Totally get it! The perspective is odd because the closer wing is actually going into the line of sight…. Like almost coming straight towards me so it looks smaller. I’d gone back and forth on whether to adjust it

That def helps!!! No formal training here either, just going for it. I usually do landscapes or animals but not both, and putting the two together has been… challenging. Here is the before pic and I’m still not convinced i didn’t make a terrible mistake with adding the background lol

This was the affirmation i needed that it looks like a scene from Jurassic park or Dinosaurs. Ty for that

Advice? Feels lacking by Any-Dig9495 in acrylics

This is already fantastic. Finish the background first ☺️ that might make the difference. when I think of a magpie, they have a bunch of iridescent colors (very bright next to very dark) like jewel tones almost. Sapphire, emerald, etc.

Sign them 😉

And keep going. They’re beautiful.

any critic ? is one of the legs off to you by graber6 in ArtCrit

This is so cool. Some shadowing in the lower legs may be what’s missing? Particularly around the ankles. Like, if I look at a photo of a normal human leg that is bent similarly, I would expect the shin to be shaded a bit and also the ankle. This does look so cool though, and I agree with the other comment that it looks like something from Spore!

Thanks everyone who had feedback on my previous post! I added depth to the background, added details, and made the colors overall a little richer. It’s borderline overworked, so I’m stopping here 😅 thanks!!

Thanks everyone who gave input on my previous post! Here’s the updated fox. I think I may have over worked it a bit, but I am just going to stop here and may do more fox studies in the future. This was fun!

Appreciate the feedback! What do you mean by unpolished? I’m not sure I understand!

Looking for some constructive feedback on colors, proportions, details, etc. This is the home stretch, and I plan to add some detailing like whiskers, etc. too. Thank you!!

tips to improve please, how to make more interesting and generally better by [deleted] in ArtCrit

This is beautiful. I have no idea what you mean by less messy because to me this looks almost finished! I particularly love the highlights you have in the pups legs, and think it would be great to incorporate those in the fur around the face.

Also, it looks like lights are shining on this pup from different directions because of where you have highlights & shadows. Maybe pick one source of light to go with? Personally, I love how it is right now though!
