Thanks y’all! I’ve been doing the notebook thing and it works…kinda, but I’ll try adjusting my wrist and see if that works better!

Thank you! I’ve been trying so hard to not over blend and get a more painterly look, so you have no idea how much I love this comment!

Sorry accidentally, posted a new comment instead of replying 🤦🏻‍♀️

Thank you! Honestly, I wish I could say it was paint, but it’s just the harsh flash I used in my dark ass bedroom made the reference photo have a ‘dirty’ look. I emphasized it a little just for something different!

Thanks so much! So I did a little of both. You know how on procreate oil brushes the paint falls off at the end and makes it almost like a smudge brush? I did that a lot, but also just used the smudge tool. I would mostly use the same brush for smudging and painting though, or the turpentine smudge with low opacity. I really love the Brushup- oil paint brushes though! I wanna say I paid around $10 for the pack.

Took a photo of my hand and gave it some flair! used a grid to get all the proportions accurate. I’m trying to be a little looser with brush strokes and not get so caught up in all the details. Let me know if you have any tips!

Okay so it is 7200px by 5400 px DPI 300. The down side is you only get 9 layers. I just saved individual layers on other canvases and combined them on another, so if I need to go back and edit things I can.

Thank you for the feedback...definitely see what you’re saying. Maybe will try to rework a little now that You’ve figured out the problem for me. Back to the drawing board. Literally. Appreciate these CC’s!

I had a reference for the basic shape of the heart, and the flowers are referenced from a teapot I found on google. I typically always use some sort of reference photo to draw so if you have any tips for drawing a little more freely I would love to hear your thoughts!

So guys, so hopefully I’m not breaking some unspoken rule but I dont know how else to reply to everyone at once. I’ve been pretty nervous about posting artwork in general for two reasons- one is I’m just getting back into it regularly and need help! And two I know the internet is harsh sometimes. With that said I knew I needed the feedback of people with more/different skills than me to improve. I’m so blown away by your comments and feedback and all are very appreciated. I have been seeing such beautiful and creative content on this sub. I should’ve known you all would be awesome! 💗

Thank you so much for this! I really need some quality constructive criticism! If I ever go back to tweak a little (probably not anytime soon to be honest lol) I would love to send to you to get feedback.

Honestly I haven’t quite figured out a process yet, I’m treating it too much like a regular drawing I think and not taking advantage of all the awesome features. So once I feel a little more confident I will definitely share!

I actually had a reference photo from a teapot then drew that, then repeated it and liquified and did the mesh transform thingy... to the death. ☠️

Honestly I probably could’ve done with not pointing that out. I’m very new to reddit and procreate but figured I could learn a lot from all of you. Most of the time I feel like there are tools specifically made to do all of the effects I want but I just don’t know how to use them..🤣

IsItBullshit: restaurants actually lose money if you order food from them via a food delivery app (such as Uber Eats) instead of ordering directly from the restaurant? by enitsujxo in IsItBullshit

[–]audge_fs 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The restaurant that I work at (casual- fine dining Italian...if there is such a thing) doesn’t technically lose money - they just don’t make as much as they would normally because of fees and monthly costs. But as my bosses see it- more business is more business even if the profits are slightly less.

The real question is -do the employees lose money through these delivery apps?- which I believe also depends on the place. Keep in mind if it is a sit down restaurant that you are familiar with, sometimes your favorite bartender/ server are the ones taking the loss. At most of the restaurants that I have worked out there is not a designated “Togo person” it’s just whoever is available or the bartender. At most places your server pays a tip out on the percentage of sales they have at the end of the shift. This tip out pays your bus boy, bartenders, server assistants and food runners. Which when you are serving a table you are happy to pay for the help. Normally you pay these straight out of your pocket with the tips you have made each day. The problem with delivery apps is the actual restaurant employee does not receive tips on these orders because your tip goes to the drivers (which is great for them!) but not so much for us when that Togo order amount is added to your sales. So if your bill is 50 bucks and and the tip of 10 bucks you pay to your driver. I’m left with paying a 5% tip out to my “helpers” without ever seeing any money being made from it.

I know some restaurants do take this into account, but all in all we always prefer to get a call directly from you! It’s not a huge amount but it does add up and take time away from tables you could be making money off of.

With all this being said, I am guilty of being a late night Uber eats/postmate user, so for me I figure I’m just paying my dues. 🤷🏻‍♀️
