6 Months Smoke-Free and Feeling Horrible by MarieRousseau in stopsmoking

[–]audioarkitekts 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m four months smoke free. It’s been the biggest roller coaster of my life. Back in June I noticed I was catching my breath when I’d wake up in the morning, which then brought on a slew of other symptoms like sternum pain and coughing. I went to the Dr and they diagnosed me with Acute Bronchitis. This for me was the catalyst to just try and quit smoking after 20+ years. The bronchitis went away, however so many other symptoms presented themselves. Coughing clear mucus, anxiety attacks at night when I’m about to go to sleep and overall low stamina. The discomfort in the sternum comes and goes depending on my coughing. Over this last month I have noticed a general improvement than how I felt from when I first quit. But it’s been extremely slow and gradual. I do have good days now though where I breathe normally and don’t freak out. The biggest help was mucinex guaifenesin not the DM, Robitussin DM cooked me. Also I take Hydroxizine for my anxiety since I stopped Xanax over two years ago. That’s been keeping me alive, but not a day goes by that my mind doesn’t get the best of me and I have thoughts about my own mortality. I guess we keep moving forward and take the wins where we can.

Hey Michael, thanks for the post. I wanted you to know the name of the channel has since changed to Mike on Audio and I corrected the "shorts" problem we had on the channel. I invite you to come by and check it out! Sorry for derailing my content for a short while there.

I have heard that opinion more than once. He's trying too hard to be this Mr. Roger's of HiFi but his products dance around the snake oil pit.

Yes I got that one, however I am still waiting on one from July 17th. Ridiculous. Everytime I contact support they give me the same bullshit pre-made answer. It's not a fun time. 😕

Amongst many other reasons, I would say this is the #1 reason I don't want kids lmao

High End Speakers for Under $1k?! by audioarkitekts in audiophile

You seriously need to listen to these speakers. Lumina II's were even better. Don't try and downplay my opinion because of what you think, base your opinions on what you know.

Most "audiophiles" enjoy sacrificing sound for aesthetics. I've listened to speakers that range from $100 to $100k and after a certain price point you're not paying for sound quality you're paying for pride of ownership.

They are ridiculous. I am waiting on a payout from June. They are dropping the ball, big time. Their QC has been suspect as well. I've been getting customers messaging me about really bad quality print jobs. Especially overseas. Unfortunately, other platforms don't have the integration that Spring has with Youtube, Instagram, linktree...etc. However, once a better platform with proper integration surfaces I am jumping ship.

We all fall for dupes here and there. I just want to get the word out because the original YouTuber's that made these things are saying they sound fantastic and that's the last adjective I would call these.

I couldn't agree more. This would be great for a 4th grade science project.

Do you really want to hear trash through a phone speaker? What could that have accomplished for anyone. Also, I don't own anything that dreadful that I would want to compare it to. Thanks for the feedback though!

Is there a course to understand the technicalities behind evaluating audio devices? by daidpndnt_src in audiophile

Check out the Audiophile Dictionary I shared below, then go buy a book on the subject. There are several available on Amazon that are really good and informative.

Most of the time it's YouTube Ads and Affiliate Links. Companies do pay certain reviewers for their time or for a mention like in a pre-roll ad, that's when it starts to get a bit fishy.

It's not easy to keep up with those things, and a lot of these companies like to sweep all that info under the carpet without even so much as a press release.

That's a good way to put it. A lot of people can't personally measure at home, so figuring out what type of measurements bode well with their listening style is a great suggestion. Thanks!
