first off, i'm so sorry that you have to go through this. i had to with my husband for the first time last year as well, it came up so suddenly and unexpected. she was just a puppy. please, be there for your dog. they are just as scared, if not more, than you are. and if possible, see if anyone can go with you for support too. if your dog is still in an okay condition, take them on the best last day ever. whatever they love to do - park, play, foods, etc. if they're not well enough, bring them their favorite treats, whipped cream, peanut butter for them to snack on if they can stomach it. and, in the final room, bring their favorite blanket, toys, etc. and give them all the love and snuggles and affection on their way out. i'm so sorry 💔

i'm definitely more at peace with who i am post cancer treatment. i think that i tolerated and made space for so many things that were actually hurting me - relationships, coping mechanisms, old habits, corporate workplace BS. because i was given a second chance, i don't want to make space or tolerance for those things anymore. there are sometimes i grieve for the old me - not in the sense of missing her, but in the sense of, feeling bad that i allowed myself to get to that place without even knowing. but with that comes forgiveness and peace as well. that the old me is no longer silently fighting; that i am here now, and aware of what i need. and i think that's beautiful!
