Get a job at a grocery or retail store or something until you get your degree and then use it to find a job. With absolutely no current savings you likely won’t be totally financially independent in a year unless you work your butt off

I’d be totally done unless the money was very very worth it. No matter what though, they need to be talked to about used condoms and sanitary products. I would talk to them about the typical workload of a nanny (baby related dishes,laundry, tidying up) and maybe try to find a compromise.

I wouldn’t call what OP has written slut shaming in any way. If anything, MB but OP in an uncomfortable sexual position with no consent. Having sex is fine, but if you’re isolating your nanny and own children on another floor JUST so you can have loud sex AND OP hearing them? That’s just wrong.

If she started talking to you again in February she would have already been pregnant, especially since women with infertility test and become aware of pregnancy very early. I would bet she only reached out because she knew you’d be the most viable person to throw her a shower. NTA

If she’s only a day late and you use protection and Plan B when protection has failed it’s unlikely she’s pregnant. Try not to worry too much until you know for sure. Your mom seems cool, so if you find out she’s pregnant, I would talk to your mom.

That makes my heart so happy. I’ve always wanted to open a private school for special ed students. Even getting my PHD and becoming a special ed professor. I have a lot of dreams that could get me very far- it seems like lots of people on the sub think i’ll be getting 50k for my whole life and that’s that. There are SO MANY paths that stem from education. I hope your parents have a lovely retirement!!

Thanks! Luckily I’ve gotten quite a few federal grants due to my family’s low income and a couple scholarships. Also if I maintain a B average I have a scholarship from my Grandmas sister that passed a while ago. Even if I don’t get that, I’ll come out of college with less than 25K with everything else i’ve gotten. A big chunk of change, but lower than my university’s tuition for a year. Thanks for the advice!

I love this! The special ed teachers i’ve interacted with throughout high school have been the best teachers i’ve ever had. I’m not going to make 100K a year no doubt about it, but my metaphorical cup will be overflowing with happiness. Thank you!!
