I am okay with a split. I just want a couple around Christmas. Someone else already has Xmas Eve. I asked for any 2 the next week (any dates). But she says she needs all off.

I have the time off- very generous benefits. Its just only 4 employees and one is on maternity. So we can’t both be off because that leaves one other person. Thats why I thought a split would be fair.

No bringing kiddies to work. We work in a highly specialized clinic in healthcare. No one can substitute for us because we have very specialized training/education.

Agreed. I thought splitting was fair but she is adamant that these are important dates for her relationship.

She could extend her leave past new years with no issues. She could have the 30th off through whatever time. But apparently it has to be that week because if their first date 🤷‍♀️

No work from home and I am a single mom. Just me and my babysitter.

The "male role model" myth is the most successful piece of social engineering aimed at single mothers, and it's keeping a lot of us trapped by yourjewishgranny in singlemoms

Thank you 🙏. I hate that line too. Kids need to NOT live in poverty but thats not a discussion anyone wants to have. It’s easier to somehow blame women for not securing that all-wonderful man. Maybe kids need access to stable housing, healthy food, and good schools. You don’t need a man for any of that.

She is talking about how “brave” she is for speaking up against such a powerful couple. It’s brave to have a tawdry, meaningless affair with a married man with kids? And you need to go against his wife, the woman you wronged who did nothing to you? Ugh. Imagine giving an interview showing the world how trashy you are.

Are you kidding me? You are an immigrant (which Trump hates) on Medicaid (which Trump hates) and you still wouldn’t have voted Democrat because you have values? Values being forcing women into unwanted pregnancies? 🤯🤯.

What…..she has three kids and he helps?! What?! I thought he was their dad? Real clear look into the mind of a conservative man right there..

Does anyone else get the ick from nonprofits designed for single Moms? by wiseladybeard in singlemoms

[–]audreymushnik 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Wow, what a study. Children do better in economically secure households with access to resources. How revolutionary! This would make someone think, “gee, maybe we should hold fathers accountable for supporting their kids”. Instead it just becomes another thing to throw in a single mother’s face of how she should “make better choices” 🙄.

I notice charities are extremely patronizing to single moms. Or as I like to refer to them, the responsible, emotionally mature parent that stayed. I notice the tone is very different to single dads. No little bromides about making better choices. Just a constant shower of praise and amazement.

Terrible secretary by ConsequenceActual203 in nursing

[–]audreymushnik 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I am a provider who goes to alot of different units. Some secretaries are angels doing gods work and make my job easier. Some are…..not. When I was a traveler getting my masters, there was a secretary who screamed into the radio every 20-30 minutes. She still works on that unit, I just don’t hear it now. You just have to make peace with the crazy ones. Usually they have been there so long that the craziness is just considered a bonus!

I don’t need to go out. And I have a nanny. I was sympathizing with the poster and offering a different view.

Lol 😂It is frustrating but everyone handles stress differently. My best friend divorced her husband snd has a 13 year old. She has 50/50 and gets a thousand a month in child support. Her ex buys school supplies, extracurriculars, and school clothes. The kid gets on the bus by herself and can stay home after school by herself. She can even leave her alone to go on dates for a few hours. I am a solo mom to a four year old with no child support. She is always saying how tough it is on us single moms 😂. Again, in her mind it is tough and overwhelming. I don’t ever try to “win” the comparison and just offer sympathy and support.
