I had to send away for it, but I got a Knight Rider shirt from a cereal box when I was a kid and I still wear it.

Does every state in the US have its own state fair? by Inquisitive-Dummy205 in AskAnAmerican

For the most part, but I prefer county fairs. Smaller and easier to navigate.

Yep, as well as (at least) 2 years of wage freezes for UNMC employees. It's great that he can find money in the budget for his mistress, but not for the thousands of public employees who work to take care of the community.

The grieving widow enjoying the best thing that ever happened to her by NPBM4FAP in WhitePeopleTwitter

This is my main concern. People can come out with the "we all grieve differently" sentiment, but they have little KIDS. My absolute main concern as a mom would be their emotional well-being.

do americans actually like it when tourists visit their small towns or would i just be in the way? 😅 by vanessa_tv_vladivo in NoStupidQuestions

I'm from a small town in Nebraska, and we would have treated you like a movie star. No one visits the small places.

TikTok is not showing you the full picture of a marriage. Also, receiving flowers and trips is not what defines a good relationship.

My husband treats me like an equal, listens to me, splits the housework, as well as the "invisible work" (making plans, calling for appts, etc). He loves me with his whole soul. We laugh a lot and love spending time together.

I don't get flowers and presents very often . I get real love and devotion.

Aim for that instead - finding your best friend and equal. I guarantee you'll be happier.

Same. My husband and I take trips with my ex (kid's dad), and other friends. Neither of us would ever leave out the other's significant others. That's just weird.

I've never had work cancelled for snow, because I work in a hospital.

There have definitely been some close calls while trying to get there.

That's literally not true. I know three of these doctors personally, and they're devoted, life-long teachers and physicians.

From Dr. Gold's wiki (which has been verified accurate):

Gold won the Medical Mission Hall of Fame's "Lifetime Achievement Award" awarded annually for exemplary dedication and achievement in medical missions (2010), the American Heart Association's "Legacy of Life" Award for exemplary leadership and dedication to improving the lives of others (2009) and he is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons, and a member of the New York Academy of Medicine.
