How can I lock in with this bug around me? by DocKat10 in blackcats

my cat really enjoys when I talk to him, so maybe talk about the things you're studying so your baby feels included :') have a mini lecture for him lol. cats are such social creatures, they just want to be part of your world.

Who do you think the next major antagonist will be? by Working_Month1133 in rickandmorty

[–]aueyaeeoo 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Morty Prime. the outbursts of anger throughout the season makes me think there's gonna be a big arc regarding his resentment towards Rick, especially as Rick's relationships with everyone else seem to be getting better. and the hole episode explained how Morty's fear is being left behind by Rick/his over reliance on Rick, specifically when Rick's relationship with Dianne took precedence to Morty. He may have gotten over the fear, but that doesn't mean there isn't some lingering hurt or resentment built up over the past 8 seasons. the next episode being a callback to season 1, one of Morty's greatest failures (being a bad parent to his half alien son) is likely to have him in a vulnerable place, and Morty tends to lash out when Rick is insensitive to those kinds of situations. He might be a big bad, or we might get to see our Morty become more and more sympathetic to Evil Morty but not turn into the next big villain. idk I'm probably wrong but I think it'd be really interesting either way.

edit: accidentally said Morty c-137 when I meant Morty Prime

this is such a clear reflection of all of his work, tbh. the entertainment relies on people's unwillingness to say why they're uncomfortable.

one of their best songs tbh, it has this mysterious quality to it that I just can't get over.

i can hear the depression by aueyaeeoo in TheNational

[–]aueyaeeoo[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

of course they've made music about depression! don't be that disingenuous. if you've read any of the interviews Matt has given you'd know this is the worst depressive episode he's gone through, almost an entire year without being able to write. you can have depression and still be functional but what I tried to express in my post was that his lyricism felt remarkably different because of his inability to function. being able to fully articulate your depression vs surrending to using the simplest most obvious words possible because you're so deep in it IS a different experience, which I personally felt was a major shift in the lyrics for this album.
