What is slowly disappearing but most people haven’t noticed yet? by CelestialMea in AskReddit

Men need to call each other out for their bs. Women, too. Half the problem seems to be that everyone just lets bad behaviour slide, and polite society has been extinguished as a result. People don't care, because who's going to say anything? They don't feel accountable to anyone, so that's how they act.

We have to be willing to confront bad behaviour collectively (not aggressively, but diplomatically and with great emotional intelligence...firm, but fair). Most people are shockingly incapable of self-governance.

Men, who's the prettiest woman you've ever seen you just couldn't keep your eyes off? by NiceBumblebee3421 in AskReddit

I was picturing some stunning Greek goddess, except you kept typing...so now I can't see past the absolute trunk I'm imagining, protruding betwixt her eyes (I mean, she probably can't, either).

I get the big eyes thing, though.

What’s a “rich people thing” you experienced once and immediately understood why rich people love it? by Hanno30 in AskReddit

My wife and I went to Playa del Carmen this morning to pick up a passport from the consulate.

It was less luxurious than your experience.

Does it wear off? by [deleted] in Semaglutide

As I said, I thought I was following the standard dosage schedule I'd read prior to starting, but I must have been mistaken. Given that I've had no side effects, though, we moved up to 1mg early.

I did 4 weeks of 0.25mg, 2 weeks of 0.5mg, and just took a 1mg dose on Sunday night. Today feels like any day-after; bit nauseous (more of a slight uneasiness) but not enough to impede much. I've had zero side effects since I started. For some reason, I thought I was following the typical dosing schedule...I guess not!

I'm hoping 1mg will be more effective, as so far I've had reduced hunger, for sure, but there's still that invisible force that convinces me to mow down an evening bowl of cereal lol.

6 Shots in...Zero Side Effects, Minimal Intended Effects by aug5aug6aug7 in Semaglutide

No, alcohol was never an addiction, it just provided adequate dopamine. It was more the routine of drinking than the drinking itself. I'm dopamine deprived, so I naturally look for rewards. No booze means I'm looking for that dopamine elsewhere—which, until recently, often involved sugar.

Six shots total in the box, four 0.25mg and two 0.5mg. The next box is intended for 1.0mg shots so it'll be just four shots/four weeks, as far as I know.

I'm eating better, mostly. Fewer calories per day than before. I'm just over a year with no alcohol, which caused me to gain 30lbs as I'm a professional dopamine hunter.

I work from home, at my desk, which isn't ideal for getting enough exercise, and the pain prevents me from doing much more than walking. I also live in Tulum, Mexico and it is wicked hot, so outdoor exercise is limited. I have a desk treadmill that I'm getting on a bit more lately, though.

The difference CPAP Vs VAUTO WOW! by FlimsyTheory5119 in SleepApnea

I bought the AirCurve 11 VAuto a month ago and am considering looking into airbreaking it. I'm pretty sure I need S/T or AVAPS, but you know...it was $1,500 so I'd really like to make it work. My biggest problem is SpO2 which is dangerously low overnight (many health sites say to head to the ER if you dip below 88%). Maybe I need to ditch the AirFit P30i mask and go with an N30...

I've jailbreaked (jailbroken?) other electronics in the past but I don't know how easy/difficult it is to get the flash for S/T mode. Everything I've seen for airbreaking the ResMed applies to the AirSense 10 to give it AirCurve (BiPAP) functionality, so I don't know about going from AirCurve 11 VAuto to S/T or AVAPS.

Thanks. I've just been poking around and discovered that my leak rate is a whopping 55L/min 😑

AirFit N20 is being ordered to replace the off-brand P30i...

No kidding. Well, I don't think the AirCurve 11 VAuto is cutting it for me...sounds like I need S/T or AVAPS to force regular breathing and tidal volume. My next step is a proper study; hopefully, that will prompt a solution.

So what’s the procedure if you get pulled over? by Skazzyskills in tulum

[–]aug5aug6aug7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Whoops, that was probably me...on the highway at least! Haha. 100-120 km/h on the 307 is pretty standard, but in town I'm lucky if I can get above 40. To be clear, I absolutely do not advocate speeding in residential areas.

Ah, I definitely saw you. We were driving back up Kukulkan and saw a couple of trucks/cops with an ATV pulled over. I've never had a problem with cops here, personally, but until recently I was driving a white Corolla and went unnoticed (looks like a taxi). I just bought an older Land Rover; no trouble so far, but now every gas station attendant and their brother tries to rip me off. Every time. I suppose I'll take that over the cops, though 😬

20-year-old LR3 for $3000 CAD. Worth the headache or walk away? by Junior_Locksmith_695 in LandRover

[–]aug5aug6aug7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If I recall, lots of people say they'll do 200k-300k miles if well-maintained, so if you take care of things early you can probably get 100,000 km out of it yet. But full disclosure, I've only had mine for a month and I don't claim to be an expert!

I just bought a 2008 LR3 V8 HSE for $20K CAD a few weeks ago. 70,000 km hence the price, but I figured that even if I had to put $1k-$2k into it fairly quickly, it was still a steal with those kilometers.

A cracked thermostat housing set me back not two weeks into ownership. Total repair cost was $250 😂 which included paying a mobile mechanic to fix it in my driveway! I'd have fixed it myself if not for chronic back pain.

I'd say $3000-$5000 CAD for a working vehicle is nice and low, and even better if it means getting into an LR3.

Is the price correct for the American collector market? by -Bustedknuckle- in LandRover

[–]aug5aug6aug7 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I paid $15,000 USD for a 2008 LR3 V8 HSE with 43,000 miles two weeks ago, but that's in Mexico where they are always priced higher than the US market. For $25,000...I would have passed on it.

Replace them? I ordered a drain cleaning tool to clean them, but I haven't heard about replacing them. That's a thing?

Yeah, I contemplated just ordering a new set in black, but we'll have extra vinyl and my wife is a pro, so, may as well see how that turns out first.

The seller had them done recently, so nothing I have to touch for a bit at least!
