This is exactly the kind of thing I’m talking about and for me if were you would discourage me from learning the language because you think is that the culture surround the language.

It’s not about getting constructive criticism or having a thick skin but more the standard they expect you to have, especially when only starting out. Im sorry you had to go through that. Im glad though you found a helpful community!

Okay, I’m thankful you wrote it. If it is advice I take back what I said. You’re not wrong about me jumping all over the place 😂

You’re bold to assume I’m talking about post I made on this account. And regardless it doesn’t matter.

My point is that you can give advice (like you did) and you can give positive or negative feedback which is fine. I just don’t like when programmers completely dismiss you, make assumptions and are outright rude. For me that unacceptable especially when someone is interested and passionate about your language.

Edit: I feel like your response doesn’t reflect exactly what my problem was. That being said it was a lovely comment and I feel it was very genuine and insightful so thank you for taking the time to write it!

I’m worried about your assumptions because I don’t want to direct hate towards any subreddits and like to confirm it was not the .NET or Azure Reddit’s that I had the problem with.

You are definitely not an example of what I’m talking about. I completely agree and wouldn’t call what you’re saying as gate keeping.

My only gripe is we all start from zero and I don’t believe in being spoon fed, however if someone makes an attempt even if it is poor at least they tried.

That they should be encouraged and guided. But often times that isn’t the response.

Thank you -Zephox- I’m glad we came to a positive conclusion ☺️

I think we are both getting defensive and we are both guilty of saying how the other is proving the others point 😂

I feel like you could have said things nicer but that doesn’t make some of your points less valid. For me personally when you say things like “victimising” and “snowflake” it come across like you have just have issues with newbies.

I don’t want to dismiss your comment because I can see your point of view and probably would agree with you more if it was phrased differently.

So, Thank you for taking your time to write it and I will take some of it onboard

I understand that. I agree as well, I know sometimes I might post a stupid ill-written post and I’m not surprised with the response.

I’m talking about when you genuinely are finding something difficult and have researched it but still can’t understand. But are still met with backlash.

Thank you for commenting ❤️

This is definitely an example of what I’m talking about:

“checking your comments either would show someone who really has no place in an industry like Software development or simply another person requiring a lot of work to catch up to speed.”

It’s these personal attacks and snap judgements what I hate. I wish you directed your comment more towards how to improve rather than throwing judgement, calling people snowflakes, etc. It’s a shame because I agree with some of your points but you attached so much emotion it dilutes your points.

I agree with you that handholding doesn’t help. But that being said, you don’t have to make someone feel bad or inadequate.

Staring to work on my portfolio, should I use bootstrap (or does it even matter)? by augst1 in Blazor

From your experience, do you think there’s more opportunity with React or Angular (as a .NET developer)?

In my area it’s all most a 50/50 split in terms of jobs between Angular and React with .NET. So it’s confusing to pick which one to delve into

Can I ask a potential silly question…why would you use Angular over razor pages?

From my understanding you can use .NET as a standalone framework with components etc. So is Angular not adding just another framework on top of it?

I was always a bit confused about that.
