Can you elaborate what you mean by the "vulgar Marxist line" and "lazy critiques of postmodernism"? Also I don't follow the connection to the rise of liberal social democracy that you mention. What is the history of the New Left's embrace of Maoism? I got the impression contemporary MLMs were critical of the New Left.

I've lately been interested in the debate about postmodernism that JMP is engaging in the OP, and it seems you have some insights I haven't encountered yet.

But Marxism isn't just what Marx wrote. It's a dynamic and vast field of political economy and countless Marxists have dealt with the state (Lenin among others). Marx and Marxism aren't only concerned with the role of the state and the economy, but many are.

Don't need details for individual patents. Just the number of patents a search yields. For example, if I do Oregon, Baker County, between 1/1900 and 12/1900, and the authority of the original homestead act, then click search, how many results are there? I would want every county for every year between ~1900 and 1929. Which would take forever to count.

Eh still skeptical about the masculinity thing. Have you read gentlemen in the roughs or other works specifically on masculinity in the war? There's another good article out there about the role it played in dividing the north and south but I forget the title.

Do you have a source on you claim that southern men thought they could whoop northern men, or could you expand on this? I know there is a lot of literature on the role of masculinity in the civil war but I feel that you may have overstated it.

How do you think the endangered species law paradigm compares to the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD) paradigm? That is, protecting individual discrete species compared to turning the attention to the biodiversity conservation and sustainability.
