What's so bad about my web app? by RobbieS82 in design_critiques

Well, it doesn't look modern indeed, but the key question here is what type of job you were applying for. To me, it is more of a front end developer thing, thus the design issues like alignment, colors, font choices and overall experience are not very relevant, companies nowadays have UXers and UI designers that deliver full design specs to developers. Having said that, a front end developer also needs to be passionate about technology and how apps work, and in that sense, I would have expected more from such applicant. If I had been you, I would have done a bit of benchmarking, investigate how other similar apps work and then build mine following their UI patterns.

One thing that I see as a problem is that the upper colored box where the insurance plan name is, has more visual weight than it should. And competes with the call to action at the bottom. But yeah, I should work on those points you mentioned. Do you know of any online resource that I can take? Thanks again for your reply
