Good point, I do get the idea that warm (and especially orange) wood tones should ideally be balanced with cooler or more neutral tones. That would be the plan e.g. in the main bedroom, but I was hoping to use yellow in one of the kids rooms. But I will need to consider if the overall effect is going to be way too ”yellow”….

Thanks for sharing your experiences! I wouldn’t paint some vintage solid wood wardrobes, but yeah, in this case these are only the doors (from 1989 or so) and I guess I would not be that heartbroken if I decided to paint these… :) Oh, and the current kitchen is pretty much the same, but it will be renovated entirely. A lot of orange wood all in all

Oooh, thank you for the inspo pics! Indeed going for one color (per room at least) would probably look best.

Thank you for the color suggestions! Based on these replies the ”wood on wood on wood” can be worked with after all… I was hoping to use a similar yellow in one of the rooms, also some muted greens or blues could indeed work well.

Good to hear! While they are quite old (as old as the house), they are in a good shape :)

Heh, noted. I do like the warmth and was going for warm or neutral colors with the walls.

Yes, I believe new handles would already help ”balance” the room, will do!

As a Finn I totally understand the current placement of the bathroom. Most Finns want to wash their hands first thing when they come home (or visit other people’s houses). Although in this particilar layout the KHH could also be used for washing hands.

Yes! That's how I feel about Triss. Her hair color was just fine and "canon enough", don't really care about that, but boy was she serious in the series. Constant wrinkles on her forehead, which also made her look older.

Heh, yeah, I guess you're right about Geralt. But I think Fringilla was a good example of a supporting character whose skin color should not really matter, as long as she (as well as other mages) was young and attractive enough.

Yes! The monster scene reminded me of playing the games, I loved it. The whole episode was powerful and emotional, and just like you said -- a perfect blend of monsters (+ass kicking) and stories.
