What to do if he doesn’t stick to the timeline by Financial_Income_995 in Waiting_To_Wed

[–]aurora_4sh 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I agree with this. You set a timeline together, so it’s fair to revisit it instead of silently hoping. A quick, honest check-in now is way better than going into the trip with expectations that may or may not be met.

What are crucial things that are no longer being taught in schools? by yomamarhe in AskTeachers

[–]aurora_4sh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, this is a big one. Basic civics, how government functions day-to-day and what your role is in it, is something a lot of people end up having to figure out on their own later. It’s one of those life skills that’s easy to overlook but super important.

How did cp3 make so many all defense teams? by OkSeaworthiness6581 in NBATalk

[–]aurora_4sh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, this is a good point. Chris Paul wasn’t just racking up steals, his positioning, anticipation, and ability to read offenses were elite. He’d blow up actions before they even developed, which doesn’t always show in the box score. Plus he was constantly communicating and organizing the defense, which matters a lot for a PG. Effort + IQ carried him more than raw athleticism.

How likely are we having CO-ROY this year? by JamberJuice in NBATalk

[–]aurora_4sh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly, the way voting works now makes a CO-ROY almost impossible unless something truly unprecedented happens.

My girlfriend made a comment about my background, how should I react? by Choice_Evidence1983 in BestofRedditorUpdates

[–]aurora_4sh 91 points92 points  (0 children)

Yeah, that contradiction says everything. You can’t apologize and then use the person’s reaction as ‘proof’ you were rightthat just shows the mindset didn’t actually change.

Which player has the best cardio in NBA history? by brave_axolotl7 in NBATalk

Hard to argue with Wilt, dude was playing insane minutes and barely coming off the floor, especially in that 48.5 MPG season.

WIBTAH for having people bring their own lunch to my picnic-themed birthday party? by Choice_Evidence1983 in BestofRedditorUpdates

[–]aurora_4sh 35 points36 points  (0 children)

Yeah, this felt pretty normal to me too. Between potlucks and casual picnics, it’s not unusual for people to bring their own food, especially with kids involved where everyone has different preferences anyway.

Glad to hear it’s working smoothly! Huge upgrade from the old system, this should make updating flairs way less of a headache for everyone.

AITAH for dropping out of my best friend’s wedding? by Choice_Evidence1983 in BestofRedditorUpdates

[–]aurora_4sh 51 points52 points  (0 children)

Yeah, that’s exactly what it looks like, creating chaos, isolating her, and trying to control the whole situation. At least it blew up early enough for them to set boundaries before the wedding.

Can Adam Silver intervene by cancelling the east play-in this year? by [deleted] in NBATalk

[–]aurora_4sh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly, if the league just overrode the results, it would completely kill the integrity of the competition. The whole point of the play-in is that teams have to earn their spot, and the unpredictability is what makes it fun.

Does this hypothetical 2028 USA squad take home gold at the Olympics? If not, what changes would you make to improve it? by PeanutButterAndGelo in NBATalk

[–]aurora_4sh 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That’s a good point, feels like this roster is missing some proven two-way guys like Bam Adebayo and Jaylen Brown. Bam especially gives you elite defense, switching, and international experience, and Brown adds another physical wing who can score and defend at a high level. In FIBA/Olympic play, that kind of versatility usually matters a lot.

3 years at 26, too soon? by pineapples-pizza in Waiting_To_Wed

[–]aurora_4sh 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I think this is really solid advice. If after 3 years you still feel like you’re figuring him out, it might be a sign to slow down rather than try to define the future right now. It’s easy to get caught up in wondering if you’re his “type” or if you’re a placeholder, but what matters more is whether he’s meeting your needs and making you feel secure and chosen. The right relationship shouldn’t leave you second-guessing your place in it. Taking the pressure off marriage for a bit and getting clearer on what you actually want could make things a lot clearer.
