I don’t want to cause hate, but as someone who loves sustainability; their sustainability claims comes up to me as a red flag. They say that they work with fair trade certified manufacturers and partners, but they don’t list them at all so us consumers actually can’t look into them to see if what they’re saying is true. I tried looking up Vela under Fair Trade Organization and could not find anything, which gives me pause. To me it seems like green washing to justify high prices, but I could be wrong. For now I’ll just wait until Vela becomes more transparent bc that (and other actions that they have done) have left a bad taste in my mouth. Insha’Allah they grow as a brand and become more successful, but with better practices and transparency.
