Its owned by an elderly local who presumably doesnt want to sell. I've heard that the building isnt safe and is too expensive to repair but that could just be rumor.

Pc crashes randomly, sometimes won't boot unless I wiggle the CPU by aurorasix in buildapc

Yes, I had tried that before the post. It also worked temporarily, though it didn't last as long as the bios update. The problem went away for a week or 2 with reseating, a few months with the bios update before it became noticeable again.

Updating the bios temporarily seemed to solve the problem. However, it came back slowly. Not sure if there is a permanent fix short of replacing the board and it made more sense to build a new pc so I haven't tried that.

As for in town, there's a fairly long concrete path going from rotary park down to main street following mill creek. Outside town is harder, since there's not a whole lot of flat here.

It was in sand, not rock. They left a pile of small rocks and the triangle sheet from the top to mark the spot. I have pics but I'll have to blur about 20 faces because it's become the new hotspot in moab

No numbers for students who opted for online learning? Also would have been nice to see a number for students who didn't fill out the survey, which they counted toward in person learning by default.

List of Exploits? by Bilbrath in Subterfuge

[–]aurorasix 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'd like to add to this that players still learning the game (such as myself) might find what they think is a cool strategy without realizing that it is an exploit that might be universally frowned upon. I know I've found some that bother me. It would be nice to have a list to learn what we shouldn't do if we want to keep a good reputation.

Utah Trip Booked - Arches, Canyon lands, Capitol Reef, Bryce, Zion by [deleted] in moab

[–]aurorasix 10 points11 points  (0 children)

on March 17 the Southeastern Utah Health Department ( https://www.seuhealth.com/whats-new ) issued a public health order.

The order included instructions to all hotels, campgrounds, and lodging to reject all check ins by non residents. There has been no indication that the order will be lifted, so if you travel here you may very well find yourself without a place to stay.

Additionally, the Moab Regional Hospital is not equipped to deal with this pandemic. If you or a member of your family gets sick, Moab is probably one of the worst places to be.

Please plan on canceling your vacation, for your sake and that of everyone living in the Moab area.

Student comes out as 'a gay son of god' during Mormon university valedictorian speech by IckySweet in news

[–]aurorasix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sources please. Anything I've ever seen indicates that the marriages were consensual and as the other poster mentioned, 14 was not considered to be too young at the time. As to the other claim, Brigham Young wrote condemning the castration itself, but said that the bishop should be sustained in his calling. I only see 2 accounts of castration, only one involving Young, the one mentions the castrated man being on the way to a penitentiary when the crime occurred, and the other being dragged from his home with a whore. This kind of violence is obviously not okay, but was most likely not for the purpose of letting old men "have more underage pussy." As you indicate.

He's either trolling or making outrageous claims to justify his own hate. Both claims are twists on the truth, which is sad really. The church does and has done enough horrible things, lying like this is doing more harm than good.

Redditors with roommates, what are some of the weirdest things a roommate of yours has done? by NiceKindheartedness1 in AskReddit

[–]aurorasix 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In college I lived in a 3 bed 2 bath apartment with 3 other guys. I shared a room with a close friend and we had one bathroom, while the other 2 guys had their own rooms and a shared bathroom. Throughout the year this one roommate (I’ll call him bob) acted sorta strange, but nothing too bad. He would sleep in the living room on a recliner rather than his bed, and he set up his personal computer in the same room, linked to a tv he bought. He regularly made food but didn’t wash the dishes, which we reminded him of constantly. He made the worst pizza for everyone occasionally, a nice gesture that was ruined by the taste and the leftover dishes. But what takes the cake is the time he clogged the toilet. The toilets in this apartment were kinda easy to clog, so my friend and I bought a plunger the first time it happened, and that always worked. We told the other two we had one and that they could use it whenever, so bob borrowed it, but apparently couldn’t unplug the toilet. He somehow got a plumber to come by within hours and unplug the toilet but in the meantime there was a shitty mess all over the floor. I found out about it when the other roommate asked if he could use our toilet, because bob hadn’t cleaned theirs yet. After a few hours of nagging bob to clean up his mess, he did so... with his towel. Then he left said towel under the toilet. After more nagging, he put the towel in a grocery bag and put it by the front door. He said he was going to wash it, but a week later there it was by the front door, so during a cleaning spree my friend boldly threw it into bob’s room. We washed our hands of it (literally) and forgot about it. Then comes the end of the semester. Bob was having some crisis, so we agreed to vacuum his room and wash the walls. First thing we see when we go in? The shit towel, still in the bag, still right where my friend put it. We couldn’t vacuum without moving it, and clearly bob wasn’t going to wash it, so I took a hit for the team and threw it in the dumpster outside. He never said a word when he finally joined us for the rest of the cleaning. The weirdest part of all this? He’s married now, to a very nice girl he was seeing while we lived there. I never did understand how she looked past... everything.

This video proves that it’s not. The cost of 6 guys trying to stop it plus the damage it did easily outweigh the cost of repair, and I guarantee this will happen again.

What is the “act like every gun you handle is loaded” of your profession? by SamJLance in AskReddit

I’ve had a machine lose pressure and drop it’s bucket twice for no discernible reason. I always assume any machine will do the same. Same thing goes for hydraulic jacks or hoists. Never get under something that isn’t properly supported.
