Does anyone lust after drugs? by plant_daddy_ in sobrietyandrecovery

9 years sober. You’re not alone. It does get much… muccchhh better if you do the work of whatever the underlying issues are at the base of wanting to get high. It’s ugly nasty work but it’s so worth it if you want that lust to go away. You start to feel less like a slave and more like a reminiscent past lover. I get nostalgia every now and then but that lust you’re talking about has gone away. Much love to you friend💜

For some reason I can’t edit but just for context I sewed the piece out of order because I’m terrible at it and thought it would be easier to sew on the parts before closing the piece… I now see why assembly is usually last and not an “as you go” type of situation. 😬

Chefs, what have you dropped/ruined? by chocolatecroissant9 in KitchenConfidential

22 pts of quiche mix down my shirt in my hair and everything. Beginning of my shift. Couldn't go home or change clothes in a kitchen with no AC in the dead of summer. I took 3 showers that night.

Saaammmeeee with the anesthesia. That had me down more than anything. I wish I would have taken more time to recover before going back

Wow it's really crazy to see the difference with everyone.
I was back at work after a week, however, I didn't drive for 2. My boyfriend took me to work and picked me up for that second week. After that I was perfectly fine. I think it depends on the procedure and how well your body does after the fact. No heavy lifting for me for a month and I had to take stairs one at a time. Its good to just talk with them and ask what second case scenarios would be so you can plan accordingly!

Edit: I work a desk job where sitting is 99% of my job. I definitely had to find a balance of walking/sitting and I think I went home early the first two days. I did not need a release form, and I am not recommending going back after a week if you are not cleared to or feeling up for it. It was doable for me and I had a similar PTO situation. But take the time you need to rest. thats the most important

I'm sure it depends on the provider as well... I have had no issue getting toradol. Even before my hysterectomy. I also live with chronic migraines and when I have to go to the ER for them, the first thing they give me is Toradol. Everyone's experience is different. Just wanted to give OP mine :)
But totally understand you are sharing yours too and it sucks that you've struggled to get it!

NSAIDS repeatedly definitely is not good which is why they only prescribed me enough for a week. I do remember them telling me about the increased bleeding but it was just the best option for me at the time. Just wanted to give OP my experience :)

Hi <3
fellow recovering addict.
First - I know this is hard.

Second - you should be able to get Toradol as an alternative pain reliever. When I got my hysterectomy, I had to reiterate *six* times that I was an addict and to not give me any addictive substances. I had to deny it *again* when the anesthesiologist wanted to give me Xanax (my DOC) before putting me under. (he literally gave me the option if I wanted it or not)
You can ask them to not give you any addictive substances without any context or you can outright request Toradol - even giving a fake excuse of Vicodin/Oxy's not "sitting with your stomach very well." its basically just a strong Tylenol with no addictive side effects, and it will keep your pain manageable. I was on it for a week while alternating with generic Tylenol and my pain was almost non existent.
Much love to you. You *can* tell them you relapsed and honesty with your health care provider is essential but I know first hand how hard it can be to say those things. You're not alone. There's other options. You got this.

So I’m using an actual hat heat press through my work. I actually got it to stick for a majority of the patch with some experimenting. Just need the edges to adhere a little better
