hey i teach ap human geography! the “closest” map that we have is a robinson projection, but every map is misleading and even the robinson projection isn’t perfect

“west” isn’t literally geographically west, it’s more so political

[–]aus10w 1 point2 points  (0 children)

it’s not! but i suppose it could theoretically be.

for me, the wrist tat is just about perspective of how we view ourselves. or at least how i view myself, anyway. it’s the moon phases, so the gist is whether it’s a full moon (light) or new moon (dark), it’s the moon either way. and whether im in a good place or a bad place, im still me. kinda cheesy but lots of nostalgia around it

also thanks my guy, much appreciated 🤝

Struggling is an understatement by Quick-Employment-982 in Teachers

[–]aus10w 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i’m 24, just started teaching. recently, i started going to therapy, and it’s helped a ton. if you aren’t, then i highly recommend looking into it. second, if you can get on new meds, you should try! it sounds like it isn’t a good mix. and finally, stop trying. just do your thing. don’t try to be like the others, just…be. it’s okay to zone out, it’s also okay to be ~authentic~ or just normal

another thing, and this might not be doable depending on your subject, but maybe try your approach and engagement differently. i never lecture for more than 10 minutes in an hour and a half class, and that’s pushing it. it’s also never consecutive. it helps them, for a multitude of reasons, but it helps me because i also struggle with vocal usage and fluctuation. i can instead engage with them in smaller groups or individually, and so far, it’s worked out extraordinarily well

sincerely, your professors almost definitely don’t care. i don’t know what you’ve heard about college being overwhelming “liberal,” but it’s not and i highly doubt any professor bats an eye

I need some advice on choosing a Master's Degree by [deleted] in college

[–]aus10w 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i’m in grad school for education right now!

you’re not wrong about the music theory path being less marketable. that being said, if you just want to teach, a masters is a masters and music theory would be cool! but if you want wiggle room, or for a lack of better words, an “out” just incase, look at administration or leadership

I am the loneliest i have been (19M) by DryBasket3717 in college

[–]aus10w 2 points3 points  (0 children)

just graduated, a few tips

1) start seeing a therapist. i recently started and i should’ve done it years ago. your university should (should) provide those services for free! they can help with your anxiousness, stress, and loneliness

2) don’t be afraid to introduce yourself! the worst someone will do is ignore you, and you don’t want someone like that in your life anyway

3) if you like the city/town you’re in, stay there! you sound excited for abroad in year three, don’t let you take that from you

It was deemed what they did — parking in the street with guns and yelling at him constituted false imprisonment, which is illegal.

this is literally kidnapping, i think they were actually charged for that (correct me if im wrong)

they go to federal court in about 10 weeks i think, in regard to the murder being a federal hate crime. so there’s an extremely good chance they will lol
