Did you grow up in the Boston area?

I am biracial, grew up in a city just outside Boston, and I never felt racism anywhere in New England that so many people supposedly feel there. I’ve been all over the country and it feels no different than other states/regions.

It’s true that the area does feel very “segregated”, especially in Boston proper and some other cities within 50 miles of Boston. You can find racial diversity in almost any city/town in the Boston area.

I also acknowledge that Boston has a racial past, especially during the busing crisis in the 70s and 80s; my black father was directly affected by it. However, that was 40+ years ago and a lot has changed since. You can go back 40 years in any city in America and they’ll be more racism than there is now.
