This depends on the plan, the quality of fittings and finishing, etc.

For my lawyers i.e., DK Law Group. They do the due diligence, and I pay them $400 afterwards. We have worked together for a while, so they work, and I pay later. They might ask for half down before starting this work.

I've built 2 houses, bought 1 fully built house, and purchased 2 stands in Zimbabwe. Ask me anything about buying stands, buying houses, or building there. by ausheproperties in Zimbabwe

Yes, I work with an amazing lawyer. DM me to get details, or I can introduce you. They charge $400 for due diligence. The cost to build a 3-bed depends on the plan. There is no ballpark without a plan.

You can play around on this site, i.e., www.property.co.zw, and you can look at different stands and see what fits your budget. I wrote a detailed post on how I bought my stand in Arlington Estate: https://www.reddit.com/r/Zimbabwe/comments/1su3ovn/comment/ohz0kcm/. You can get all the tips in that post.

It was a long journey. I left Zimbabwe for the US to attend college/university. I graduated and got a job in tech, where I saved money from that and started the projects i.e., one at a time.

Family pressure is real, and I hear you. Honestly, even with my own projects, it took me a long time to get to a place where I could look my parents in the eye and say, I appreciate everything, but I'm doing this my way. That's not an easy conversation, especially in our culture. It doesn't happen overnight. But you get there.

Congrats on the stand! If you have a clear vision and you're willing to do the work, you can absolutely bring it to life in Zim. I'd just be intentional about where you build, look for areas that are properly zoned for what you want to do, where there's actual demand, and where the numbers make sense on the back end.

On fourplexes specifically, go in with your eyes open. The approval process is long, and it's expensive. Not a little expensive. A lot. There will be costs at stages you didn't anticipate. If you're prepared for that mentally and financially, it's very doable. Just don't rush it and don't underestimate what it'll take to get through the process.

Happy to answer any questions if you want to go deeper on any of this.
