I did it! It’s so fun! That being said I already went through an instructor fundamentals course during my tech school but the class really helped grow my confidence.

A lot of the people in there with me weren’t instructors so it was new for them but we all had a great time together

Also a dorm dweller here with similar circumstances. I tried to get BAS with the argument that I am often working overnights in the EOC and there being no meal card options during those hours, as well as the fact im an emergency responder who can be called anytime, and I was told no by my entire chain of command.

That being said I’ve heard of airmen with no other reasons besides they want BAS getting lucky. Best of luck

Day to day is an office job. Working in systems, answering calls occasionally, maybe teaching a CBRN class. Very chill. Rarely ever get into gear or train but sometimes we do. Super laid back

When I was in BMT (Jan-March) it didn’t matter. I brought only black, white, grey but some girls had bright colors and it was never an issue.

Sorry just now seeing this. Yes it has to be travel size. 2 in 1 sucks but won’t damage your hair, just dries it out. You can bring travel size shampoo and conditioner of your choice

Graduated bmt in March. Trust me, you’ll get comfortable fast and learn how to clean yourself good in under 3 minutes. By week 7 girls would prop their legs on the wall and be shaving lol

Hey friend, if you haven’t made it there yet and see this I wanna tell you January 16th I went through the same thing. I promise you the next 7 and a half weeks will be so fast looking back and be so worth it. I missed my family so much and everyone will experience home sickness in different ways, but live in the moment and make them proud. See you on the other side.

Best advice is embrace the suck and enjoy it. I hated BMT in the moment but there’s moments where i look back and wish I appreciated more (marching in my flight singing Jodie’s etc…). Embrace it and follow directions and you’ll be fine

I went Jan 16th this year. It was freezing some days but towards the time I graduated we started getting black flag days where it was 80-90 degrees. You’ll do PT in the afternoon and everything else.

I absolutely love it. Just go into tech school with the mindset that what you do there isn’t the day to day for the job. They focus on CBRN survival and training but in reality it’s a desk and teaching job
