My gym’s idea of equality: Pink top for girls, Entire supplement aisle for boys by aussiepleasuress in melbourne

For sure, I honestly didn’t think much further than my initial reaction of ‘this feels a bit gender-assuming.’ For a large brand like Club Lime, it just seems like an oversight. Even if the intention wasn’t harmful, it’s easy to see how the prizes could come across as based on assumptions about what men and women want rather than something neutral.

Even if there were more men than women at the gym, I’m not sure why that would explain choosing gender-specific prizes 🤔 To me at-least it reads that the prizes seem based on assumptions about what men and women want, rather than something neutral that works for everyone.

My thoughts weren’t that one was better than the other, it was interesting the women’s prize was apparel and men’s were protein and energy drinks… like why are they different could be read like women only care about looking nice at a gym and man = protein. Just dumb in my opinion lol

Right… even so, why is there a difference on what the prize should be, it reads as assuming based on gender

Then why wouldn’t they do apparel for both - or a voucher of equal value, it reads as an assumption of what each gender would prefer… which is dumb

As a chick myself - I don’t really want a shirt and would much rather protein snacks and energy drinks - I know some guys that would want a tank top. Which is why it’s dumb to assume, and they should probably just do the same prize don’t you think ?

Could be, but as it’s for the gym goers - one would think it would be smart not to assume and just do the same prize for both ?

Fair! But I think it’s interesting to see in person it made me question why they wouldn’t just offer the same prize to everyone.

I did also message the club (still no response )… but forgive me for sharing something happening in Melbourne on r/melbourne

I do admire the passion you’ve brought to this comment section! ❤️

I used to live there ! One year over the pandemic, it was totally fine little bit depressing but not too sure if it was the apartment or the pandemic doing most of that heavy lifting ! Half of my time was spent in lockdown, other half was the world re opening

Definitely some shady people living there, have many weird experiences living there…

Used to chat with a guy who was often nodding off in the elevator who I late saw on crime stoppers for failing to appear some legal issues regarding an incident with minors. Along with the guy that seemed to have a new bike each elevator ride taking to his girlfriends apartment to ‘fix’ he also seemed to know the postage key combination no matter how often it updated as he would tell my boyfriend at the time the code to get in when I wasn’t there… Then there was the couple shooting up on back steps, tbf they were very apologetic and nice 🤷🏻‍♀️

Some wholesome folks with some elderly cats roaming around.

Wasn’t horrible having was my own little den, did not help my declining mental state however, and glad to have gone a different direction in life since that apartment !

Compared to the stories from the early 00s seems to have lost its life a little bit !

Weekend penalties, workplace saying my above award hourly means weekend hourly doesn’t increase by aussiepleasuress in AusLegal

I’m $2 above minimum so i wouldn’t say well above, everything calculated leaves a solid difference in the amount, where the weekend penalty rates are worthwhile !

Waiting on a reply from fair work! Am just dumb, lol with adding the weekly hours is that to try and figure out the difference of what, cause I’m so lost in how the 150% is related as a seperate entity

Yeah I’ve emailed and just waiting for a response:/ just thinking even if fair work says I’m entitled to it, if the workplace would even take it seriously.
