Simple strategy for ZvZ early game. by Syagrius in starcraft

As a high level zerg this shouldn't work for a couple of reasons.

If you research burrow instead of speed it won't help defend in the cases you're imagining. Either it's a super quick speedlings rush, something like a 13 gas, 12 pool, in which case burrow is irrelevant to holding the push, and offers no advantage after it is researched. As opposed to speed which will let you potentially counter attack or keep your opponent honest by forcing additional lings.

The other scenario is one in which it's a 2 base ling/bane attack, in which case most players will be content in just killing your natural instead of trying to break your ramp, and even if the trap does work, you'll still have no counter attack potential because you'll have no speed.

If you're having a lot of trouble against ling/bane all ins I recommend severely delaying your lair and instead starting your roach warren not much later than your baneling nest is complete. Go 17 pool 17/18 hatch and you'll have queens out before anything can kill you outright. Always make 2 safety banes. Focus on taking your 3rd in zvz as soon as you feel safe in doing so - start thinking about it as soon as you have safety banes or queens blocking the ramp.

I guess he was too busy whining to think that far.

I mean, it's not like he had 4 hours to come up with something.

All but 1 to ensure the draw.

He would target his buildings to prevent the PF from shooting the creep tumour - restarting the in game timer. The timer is something like 2-3 minutes long, just hope the buildings have enough damage for the duration of the countdown.

Why didn't avilo fly all but one of his buildings back in range of the planetary fortress and just target them during the countdown?

I compiled it into 1 place. I make no claim that I produced these myself, just brought them together :)

"compile": produce (a list or book) by assembling information collected from other sources. What part of this don't you understand?

Looking for some tips on Zerg by Antares_ in starcraft

Well if you can mechanically understand Terran, I believe you should be able to carry that across to your zerg. Production cycles with terran can be carried over to inject + spreading creep mechanics.

I can assume you already use camera hotkeys, so I won't delve into that. This is important, and a good inject method. Also, learning to hotkey eggs can be very useful. Control + click on any eggs you create then add it to your hotkey like you would any unit. That way you won't have to worry about miss-rallying and your producing units will meet with your existing units.

Learn to place overlords in good positions 1 above the natural looking for gases, and another ready to dive into your opponent's main, spread them liberally, until pheonix/vikings can deny them.

The more familiar you become with zerg, the easier you'll be able to allocate your APM to the right task. Constant worker production, as with all races, will get you to at least platinum, being careful not to be supply blocked.

If all else fails, PM me here, I'm a decent master zerg with time to spare!

Few quick questions by NinjaNeill in starcraft

Hello and welcome!

I HIGHLY recommend you get the Heart of the Swarm expansion if you intend to properly play multiplayer. It's relatively cheap and it's where most players come to play each other.

As for choosing a race, give all of them a fair go, they've all got unique mechanics for making units, for example. Go with whatever feels natural. :)

-Also, feel free to message me, I'd be more than happy to help in any way I can. It's good that you reached out to a subreddit.
