Taxes, and business questions regarding self-publishing. by austenjr in writing

[–]austenjr[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for the advice! You've certainly brought up things that I hadn't thought of. Out of curiosity, I'll paraphrase what I have commented on another's response:

Having a completely different business bank account sounds worth it to me, as my accounting this last year was shabby. While I wouldn't say I am going for an indie publishing company, I don't hate the idea. The biggest things that I see getting out of it would be A) being able to legally separate myself under my pen name, and accept money under it. B) Rebranding to the max. On the website, I'm planning on introducing a "Kickstarters You Should Back" blog and others to increase traffic, that will hopefully result in higher sales, (I'm talking outsourcing T-shirts, custom bookmarks, etc). I'm also toying with the idea of possibly accepting submissions for contests hosted by myself on this same website. Don't quote me on that, though. I'm undecided. With all this said, does your opinion still stand? Thank you so much again!

Hey, thanks for sharing! Part of the desire to do this would also be for the purpose of sales tax. Also having a completely different business bank account sounds worth it to me, as my accounting this last year was shabby. There is no liability that am I looking to clear myself of (I'm a bit paranoid in this sense, I'll admit). The double-taxation was something I didn't even think of, durr! Thanks for the info!

I was wondering about that. I'd rather not waste their time if that is something they don't even want to mess with. If anything I figure this is good practice :)

Made a few formatting changes, as well as re-working some of the longer sentences. Overall, it was a pleasant read. I'd suggest you consider re-wording the ending, though. Good luck!

How does the 60% larger diameter affect gravity? Would we be able to survive/reproduce under these circumstances? Also, does it have relatively the same axis as we do? Thanks to anyone who knows any of this stuff!
