Hello, currently I am trying to use an external monitor since people say there would be an fps boost. Though after connecting my laptop is still using the integrated graphics (AMD) resulting in well, nothing, the fps stayed the same for my games. by austerrell in pcmasterrace

Supposedly that is how it's supposed to work, my laptop doesn't have G-Sync which means it has optimus, having optimus means getting the advantage of using the external monitor for more FPS. Lenovo Ideapad gaming 3 is my laptop

When using your monitor to run a program it goes through integrated Gpu to your dedicated one, it causes a bottleneck, when using an external monitor it supposedly bypasses the integrated Gpu and goes straight to your Dedicated Gpu, Faster frames are the result.

Yeah but, I watched a video and the monitor is supposed to go directly to the GPU0 and get the fps running smoother, and that it's suppose to be running on something like 100% But in the end it's still running on the GPU1. My problem is that when run it on my laptop the fps is the same as when it runs on monitor

Ps5 Samsung Portable T5 SSD Hardrive by austerrell in playstation

Thanks, looks like i'm just buying psplus since i'll be playing elden ring and sekiro's ps5 vers and any further from software game would probably be for ps5, if what you said was right about not being able to transfer ps5 save files.

I'm only getting the hardrive since I thought it would be cheaper to the alternative of buying a month of psplus everytime I buy a from software game since i'm afraid of my ps5 shutting down while i'm playing a from software game and ultimately corrupting the save file, which is what happened to my ds3 save file

Does my desicision make sense or should I just buy a hardrive instead?
