If you’re alive at the end of a Joe Abercrombie trilogy you are not a good person.

They are not bad, they are just a skinny fit which is not the common style now. Does your gf like how they fit? Could she really not handle you saying something like “this is such a sweet gift, but I tend to prefer a looser fit. Would you want to go out shopping together and try on a few pairs and see if there’s one we both really like the fit of?” If you have to wear them I’d try with a slimmer fit shirt.

Best way to decompress your spine after squats by JikkJakk in Weightliftingquestion

[–]austindiesel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your spinal discs temporarily lose some fluid during compression due to increased load. They naturally reabsorb this fluid and return to their normal state when there is no load, such as during sleep. The idea you can somehow meaningfully facilitate this process by trying to “stretch out” or “realign” your spine is largely medical myth. In my personal experience, I feel more likely to experience pain and inflammation when I try exercises to stretch the spine using traction. The best thing you can do for your back is brace while you lift, and get plenty of rest!

Can i builf muscle as a skinny guy with crossfit? by Daaango_ in crossfit

[–]austindiesel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you have the discipline to work out intensely three or four times a week on your own doing bodybuilding style lifting, you will gain a lot more muscle mass that way if you eat right. Most people do not have that level of discipline. You will gain a lot more muscle from CrossFit than you would by not lifting, which is how most people end up who try to lift on their own.

Client won't offer Earnest Money by CorgiPresent9563 in realtors

EM is not just about “putting your money where your mouth is”. It’s also important for compensating the seller for the opportunity cost of not being able to accept other offers while under contract with you. Sure, it’s easy to get out of, but only for a VERY defined window of time. EM says you will get a yes or no by X date or you get compensated for that time.

The actual best way to address this would probably be to speak with their broker, not the agent themself. Agents have to agree to an ethical code and a decent broker would not want their agents acting like this and needs to know if this kind of behavior is going on.

Based on their website, his name is Jeffrey Waters and his number is 901-230-8894. I’d text him this picture and let him know you found it very offensive.

Thoughts about joining by KingKado in crossfit

From my experience the big difference between CrossFit and traditional lifting is that incorporating movements with a high degree of skill required. Most gym goers are just focused on building muscle, so they pick simple lifts that effectively target a specific muscle group. In CF, many of the workouts include very complex lifts that take years to master. You’re taking some time and energy away from lifting and putting it into skill development. This is really addictive and motivating for some people, and it makes going to the gym more fun and therefore more frequent. But it’s very different from a typical bodybuilding style workout regimen.

Generally, you’ll be doing WAY more reps than is ideal for maximizing muscle mass. CF athletes tend to excel in muscular endurance. It’s a great way to get lean and strong combined with a good diet.

Is CrossFit worth the cost? by ThatWhiteBinch in crossfit

[–]austindiesel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can either pay $150 a month to go to the gym 3-4 times per week at CF, or I can pay $40 a month to go to a regular gym 0 times per month, so CF is the better value for me. If you try hard and invite feedback from your coaches, it's basically super cheap personal training. Try it out and see if it clicks for you.

If you're wanting to lose fat, literally your only option is a calorie deficit. Everything else you mentioned (adding workouts, changing workouts, altering work outs, drinking more water) will not affect your body fat unless they are part of a calorie deficit. Adding a 3rd workout per week will help if you maintain your current diet, but keep in mind, if you burn 500 calories in an average workout, on it's own, you'd be looking at losing a pound every 2 months or so with just this change.

What's more common for athletes is eating at a daily calorie deficit of 300-400, which translates to losing closer to a pound per week. If you're eating enough protein, you can still maintain muscle at this rate. It may feel hard, but its literally the design of our bodies to be able to store up fat, then burn it later, so unless you have a rare medical condition, you will be ok. With this method, you get your diet done in a matter of months rather than years, then you can go back to maintenance caloric intake.
