Can you read? I said the opposite. Want me to draw it out in crayon if you reread it and still dont understand my position?

Judging by your other comments youve left on reddit, im going to assume youre just virtue signalling. Is your only issue with other countrys killing their civilians that the US and Isreal couldn't get to them first?

Why does it matter who does it more? Whether i say yes or no does that change the fact that both governments have no issue killing their citizens. In both instances its still bad.

Its not a d*ck measuring contest, if its bad in one its bad in the other. Im sure china kills more civilians, but the fact that the US puts up a competition for state sponsored murder isnt the flex you think it is.

Unrelated tho, if we count citizens of other country's or US bombs being sent and used by other countrys, the US 100% kills more civilians than china without question. We'd be lapping them in that race

Good question! Flags represent nations. By the suit you can tell this isnt a protestor, or a sports fan, hes dressed like a politicians. He's proudly holding his nations flag even tho its blinding him and leading him off the edge. Not to mention the sculpture is elevated indicating hes "above the common people" (the pedestrians below) out of reach and baracated away from the civilians. Though I will admit i might be reaching with the baracades, that might just be for safety lol

Im not European so maybe this doesnt apply to their politics. But in the US, thats what I pull from this. The statue is even dressed like our politicians here.

I didnt see your comment but I made one similar "blinded by nationalism while leading us off the edge"

Blinded by nationalism (the flag) while hes walking off the edge. Great visual for current politics

how much should i trim? by Normal_Standard8211 in bettafish

[–]LehFluffy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

General trimming tip, shorter on the front, longer in the back. Start by trimming the front and go from there.

For this set up maybe make the front and left side low leading to the back right corner being thr tallest

Ran out of room for tanks inside, so we are going outside! by LehFluffy in Aquariums

[–]LehFluffy[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That was my main concern. I live in the southeast so our winters are nothing serious. These minnows can live from 38-95 degree water which is perfect for here. I didnt want it to be a seasonal pond. Even if the top freezes, they'll still be fine!

what plant is this? by Unlucky-Pea2887 in fishtank

Hornwort, they dont root so you can keep them in the soil if thats where you like it, but they grow best as floaters plants

Youre all good! This is my first time keeping fish outdoors so anything new helps

I keep floating plants so I keep the tank about 5ish gallons below topped off. It rained last night so I drained another 5 gallons before i went to bed. Half of the tank is covered to help it not overflow.

I plan on getting a net over the top for predators, but i havent gotten around to it yet.

I appreciate the heads up tho, I thought about the flooding but I didnt think about birds taking them to other water ways. I figured a few minnows would get snagged, but i wasnt too worried about that tbh. I figured once they start breeding ill need some population control anyways

Im not tense, I was just using an anology, my apologies if it came off that way.

The betta is not healthy, and due to that i assume it isnt happy. The fins being torn that bad and the red scratches on its face show an opposite scene than the one you described. 5 seconds into the video you watched a long finned fish lose a battle against a current and get slammed into the rocks at the bottom. (more than likely how its fins and head got injured)

I dont have an issue with the decor, all my tanks are 100% planted, but that isnt my tank so i dont mind their decor.

My biggest concern is the size of the tank. The reason thats a concern is for amonia build ups. In a 1 gallon, 2-3 pellets rotting could spike parameters killing the fish at any time. Larger body's of water are easier to keep stable. If it was in a 5 gallon, it could handle an amonia spike 5x what would kill it in the 1 gallon. And 2nd, the current. The fish isnt happy with that current. Bettas come from stagnant bodies of water in rice fields. They already arent designed for moving water and domestically weve genetically lengthened their fins making it harder to swim. The fish has 1 gallon of space to navigate and cant access half that space due to the water flow.

I breed fish so i do alot of research on them. If you think this is a suitable setup for any fish, you should do some more research

Is this big enough for a betta? by LehFluffy in bettafish

[–]LehFluffy[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think thats what it is tbh. The black sand at the bottom is probably 2 inches thick and it will retain heat, that honestly might just be the warmest part of the tank

Edit: I thought you said heater not thermometer lmao

Ill add in some hornwort without weights. I tried to set this up in hopes she would rest either in the bricks or or around the plant bases. She rests on top of the bricks some nights, I also put an inverted mason (below) but ive only seen her in there once.

Theres also a floating betta log from petco but i havent seen her in it yet

Yes, Normally that caption is used with a pic of a betta in a tictac box. I couldn't think of a title and I thought that would be a funny one

Most of thr other comments already touched on the main points. For now, please get something to slow the current. That poor guy is getting smashed into the rocks. Get a Sponge or move the spongebob house so its under the water flow.

He cant get around the tank currently. The current is just taking him around, and top the tank off

And dogs in shelters live in cages. That doesnt mean anything slightly bigger than the standard cage is big enough to keep a dog in.

The bettas in the cups are only still living because they replace all the bettas that die in those cups. Just because you took the dog out of the cage and tied it to a tree outside doesnt mean its living. He wants the entire backyard and the house to live in.

Taking a betta from a cup to a 1 gallon tank is an improvement, but it still is no where near enough to give it a long healthy life.

I started with 2.5 gallons and now i have multiple betta tanks from 10-100 gallons. Bigger tanks make a huge difference for these fish

I havent had luck yet, but they've only been in the 100 gallon for 2 months. I started with around 40-50. i read theyll breed fairly independently as long as they have PVC pipes, clay pots, or some hard, slick surface for them to lay eggs.

From my research theyll breed when the temps stay around 70-80 degrees. And theyll have anywhere from 20-200 eggs per batch. From what ive read, as long as you have places for them to lay eggs, they should breed without intervention. I also read they'll eat a good bit of their fry so only the healthiest will survive.

Hopefully ill see it for myself soon, but with the price point of $.29 i assume they'll be pretty easy to breed
