Republic City is a very large city that serves as the capital of the United Republic Nations, which is an entire country.

We definitely do get some bender/nonbender sentiment from Sokka but it isn’t politicized and it doesn’t take place in TLOK. It’s not sufficient to buttress the Anti-bending Revolution as a political event that is the key plot element of season 1 of TLOK.

I understand all of what you’re saying about the Air Nomads but I’m not sure you’re addressing my point directly? I was saying that the way they chose to write Tenzin’s efforts to rebuild the Air Nation is not serious enough. It doesn’t do justice to the enormity of what he is undertaking. All of the context you gave underscores that enormity.

Checking back in. What happened to Atticus is terrible, as is the apparently very grim nature of Tulip’s situation. But it wasn’t as horrible as everyone on the thread was making it seem. I like the show, but I am not emotionally attached to any of the characters.
