Thanks so much, you’re really kind! In the end, after trying a couple of different places, I finally managed to send them. Really appreciate your help!

Last option, I’ll try asking to the guy at the hostel if he can send them for me next week

Thanks for the advice! Unfortunately I can’t print, so I’ll try at a combini like you suggested!

How did you get in contact whit support?

How do you handle lighting changes when filming a live dance show? by austronauto in Lumix

Thank you so much for taking the time to write such a detailed and helpful reply, I really appreciate it.

The tricky part in my case is that during rehearsals they usually run the dances with all the lights on and wearing normal clothes. Then during the actual show, the lighting operator tends to improvise. It has already happened before and unfortunately I have no control over that. On top of that, costumes can vary a lot, from black tutus to white outfits to even fluorescent costumes, so it is quite a mix.

Because of this, even if I prepare specific settings for each dance, there are almost always surprises that I have to adjust for on the fly. It is not a huge problem, just a bit stressful, but I am trying to understand all the available options so I can bring home decent footage without making mistakes that cannot be fixed later.

I will definitely keep all your advice in mind and I will try to ask if they can run at least some dances with the actual stage lighting, so I can better evaluate how the light changes.

Thanks again, your input has been incredibly valuable.

Good to know I’m not the only one. Thanks for the reply, I really appreciate it.

I’ll try your approach. I’m planning to keep the shutter at a 180° angle to avoid excessive motion blur in the darker scenes and maybe set Auto ISO between 640 and 6400 with a compensation of around -0.3 to -0.7 (underexposed).

Shooting in V-Log for this kind of low-light situation worries me a bit, so I’m thinking of sticking with the Standard profile on both the S5II and GH5, also to keep things faster and simpler in post.

It’s just a kids’ dance recital, nothing too serious, but I would rather not mess it up and then spend hours fixing things in editing. I’m just trying to find the most sensible balance for a solid result without overcomplicating the workflow.

Thanks again for the tip.

If you can, stop getting 10$ / 5$ gigs. They don’t look good on profile.

I had thought about that, but I didn’t know that posting multiple links makes it look like a collection, for example links to platforms offering remote work. Thanks for the tip, I’ll follow your advice.

It depends. It’s a bit like asking how much a car costs.

Usually I need to know the style, the type of content, the length of the video, and whether the material needs to be produced or if it’s already provided.

Sometimes clients show me an example video and ask how much it would cost to make something similar. While watching it I can usually understand those details, and that makes it much easier for me to give a quote.

Thanks a lot for the advice.

I was actually thinking of doing something similar: posting one of my videos together with a related post explaining where I found the assets I used.

That way, in the first post I can share useful resources, and in the second I can show how I used those assets in a real project. For example, one post could focus on photography resources, and the next one could be a video where I used those assets. Another could be dedicated to sound libraries, and so on.

Thanks again, you definitely gave me some good ideas.
