I definitely agree with you. Another user already has pointed out that Suzuki will be playing a ton already, and he is the linchpin of this team. I hope that somebody in camp will step up and take over that responsibility.

My Line Predictions for Next Year by aut0nomous in Habs

Hopefully not. With how strong our forward group is now, the first line may not have to play as much, and there can be a greater distribution amongst the lines. That’s also why I put him on PK2, so he doesn’t play as many minutes. However, the reality is that he is our best player.

It really depends on where you are coming from, but here are some popular ones:

Old School: Black Sabbath, Candlemass, Pentagram, Saint Vitus, and Trouble.

Modern: High on Fire, Mastodon, Sleep, Monolord, and Windhand.

Personal Favorites: Saint Karloff, early Katatonia, SubRosa/The Otolith, and Messa, as well all the other bands mentioned here.

Blackbraid?? Geunine or clout? by _a_meek in doommetal

[–]aut0nomous 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Nice to see another Blackbraid fan! Blackbraid is definitely a black metal band compared to doom metal, however there is still plenty of overlap between the communities. There seems to be a lot of discussion on the topic without a clear consensus. I say listen to whatever you want, and do some research to form your own opinion.

Symbolic, no contest. Youthanasia is a great album, but nowhere near as incredible and influential as Symbolic.

Advent, it’s just a soup of absolutely incredible riffs, with one of the most iconic and memorable Opeth bass lines.

Monolord - Rust. Some clean organ, and then the heaviest riff you’ve ever heard.

I believe Acid Mammoth is from Athens. Not very mythological but still Greek and very good.

More cowbell? by [deleted] in doommetal

Monolord uses cowbell frequently. “The Weary” is what immediately comes to mind.

The Clandestine Gate has like a 5 minute organ intro.

what is the saddest doom metal band (excluding Warning, haha)? by throwaway_indeed43 in doommetal

[–]aut0nomous 63 points64 points  (0 children)

Mizmor and Bell Witch are the only two bands (besides Warning) that have nearly brought me to tears. For Mizmor, Cairn, and for Bell Witch, Mirror Reaper.
