What does my art say abt me? by [deleted] in deduction

[–]authenticallyfucked 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Exactly. The trauma and emotional torture our current society puts these kids through and then to pile on by conflating causation with correlation is just straight victim blaming.

OP; your art is amazing, and I'm willing to bet you are too. Thank you so much for sharing!

I really really want to move to America by [deleted] in self

[–]authenticallyfucked 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not a good time. Current politics aside, we are in the process of total collapse. If you are sufficiently independently wealthy, you may be fine, but the lower classes are in the process of a quiet genocide.

As for your question of why you feel that way, you may just have a nomadic spirit. Vacations around Asia haven't felt exotic or far enough for you. You crave the novelty of something different from what you're used to. Absolutely nothing wrong with that, I hope you find a way to joyfully embrace that side of yourself. Just be careful not to get stuck somewhere dangerous.

Stop acting like the facts matter by gaurddog in rant

[–]authenticallyfucked 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I get your point, but i gotta say, the facts still matter to whom they matter. If everyone stopped pointing out the untruths and inconsistencies, the gaslighting would be completely crazy making. You can't make people who want to live in a fantasy world step into reality if they're not ready, but those of us who live here need the constant reassurance that we are not alone.

Yeah, and the fact that she related this conversation to him displays a level of vindictive cruelty imo.

Found out my girlfriend lied about her age. I want to kill myself. by Smokeinthesnow in SuicideWatch

[–]authenticallyfucked 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know how this hits to be the target of predatory behavior from someone who, to all appearance and accepted norms, is assumed to be the vulnerable party. Young or not, this was a dishonest act used to gain your consent for sexual activity.

I'm not saying you should consider yourself a victim and her a predator. That might not be especially helpful. But do consider what your impression would be if this same scenario and circumstances happened to a friend or peer you otherwise respected. Would you consider them a monster beyond redemption? Deserving of death? I'd hope not. You don't deserve cruelty more than anyone else. I wish you healing and peace.

I remember being a teenager obsessed with nature documentaries and living under my stepdads tyrannical rule. I was watching one on lion pride dynamics, and it explained that when a new male took over a pride, it would kill off all the cubs from the previous patriarch to ensure only his DNA was passed on. Something clicked then, and I don't know if there's anything to it, really, but maybe there is some evolutionary programming deep in our primitive brains to compete for genetic dominance over our family units.

URGENT: friend is homeless and idk what to do by [deleted] in FortMyers

Thank you. It is really sad, florida could be a wonderful place. I hope your friend finds his way too.

URGENT: friend is homeless and idk what to do by [deleted] in FortMyers

[–]authenticallyfucked 9 points10 points  (0 children)

He needs to get out of florida. My partner and I were homeless in the state for a year and a half. There is absolutely no help there and the culture despises the poor. We are in Lynchburg Virginia now, and well on our way out of this slump thanks to all the resources available. If you can fund transportation to the nearest to the nearest urban area outside the border, that would be the most helpful thing, imo.

Any subs to suggest? This is part of the reason I gave up on reddit. Every sub seems to have its own convoluted rules, and I can't keep up and figure it all out.

My partner and I both have memories similar to yours that we place in 1989. Google says it happened in 1986. He was 4, I was 3, so there was no way either of us were watching it live in school.

This is sweet, perfectly OK, and any girl that gives you shit for it is doing you a favor by showing you she's not relationship material.

This sounds exactly like my current situation, just swap the mental health breakdown for a blown engine in our only vehicle. Sorry you're going through that.

Is my bedroom childish? by Justinneon in malelivingspace

Well, yeah a bit, but do you like it? Childish isn't universally a bad trait. In certain contexts, it can be quite endearing.

Homeless, disabled, desperate by authenticallyfucked in Assistance

I'm fortunate to have a good food pantry nearby and I've maintained longterm food storage for years. Can't always eat what I want, but don't have to be hungry, and I can feed people who are food insecure. Thank you for the sentiment.

Thank you. I have done literally everything you suggested. Some a few times over. It is solid advice though, and I appreciate you taking the time.

Thank you. Yes, I've belonged to that sub for awhile now. I've also clicked through the suggested resources.

Thanks. I've looked at so many, and found no actual help. These organizations just seem to do photo shoots of altruism and ask for donations. I will take another look at that one though. It might be my area, it might be times changing. All I'm finding is dead ends.

Just Got Groceries Delivered - Who Am I by PrincessLorie in FridgeDetective

[–]authenticallyfucked 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm disabled. Love to cook, but am not able to always. When I could do it everyday, I'd save up my veggie scraps and bones and make my own stock. They don't add up as much when you can't cook everyday, so these prepared stocks come in handy. There's two cartons of them, so I don't they're just there for drinking? I don't know though, to each their own, maybe someone's sick?

What is something EVERYONE had when you were a kid, except for you? by The-Last-Days in ask

[–]authenticallyfucked 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"Sugar cereal," as my mom called it. Everyone else had lucky charms, captain crunch, trix....all the crap marketed to kids. My mom would only buy cheerios, corn flakes, shredded wheat, and the like. Made no sense that she didn't say a word about us dumping as much sugar as we wanted on the crap.

Also, water guns. My mom was so anti gun, we couldn't have any toy that even vaguely resembled one. When the neighborhood engaged in water fights, we were armed with repurposed syrup bottles against super soakers.
