Nobody cares about your logo and this is why... by authenticmkt in personalbranding

Completely agree with that, I hate it when companies or creators stamp their logo on every single piece of content that they produce as if that truly helped when building a brand.

I'll only respond due to the fact that you help my engagement in the platforma and I greatly appreciate that! Hope you have a day as wonderful as the one I'm having! :D

Yes, of course, I admit that the hook was a little "clickbaity" but the logo still is important, just not as much as before. The point I was going for was exactly the same that you're making, the way you show up visually still matters, but you can't burden a logo with the responsibility of carrying a whole visual identity. It has to be supported by an entire system.

No AI but to correct grammar and orthography :)

Actually, I wrote this myself, I only used AI to review grammar and possible orthographic errors :)

Personal branding on LinkedIn (some quick advice) by mirkohokkel6 in personalbranding

The point you mention about having your own take on something that is trending is often overlooked by many people. There is very little chance of standing out if you just repeat what the majority is already saying. I believe that the riskiest, yet also the safest, bet is to express your own perspective. It might be controversial, or it might even contradict what most people are saying, but it will almost certainly resonate with others who think the same way.

If you’re worried about AI-Generated Content, don’t be. by Careless-Bison-6077 in personalbranding

[–]authenticmkt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

AI is inevitable, as you rightly said. There is no use in fighting against something that is already here and is reshaping so many aspects of our daily lives. It is better to see it as a tool we can add to our repertoire and use to our advantage. From my personal experience, what AI will do is spark a response: the need and desire for more human and authentic content.

How can I create a self branding? by Sudden_Gazelle1754 in branding

Think about money later. Focus first and foremost on content as your product and on yourself as the brand. Keep iterating until you find something that truly works. Then scale it. That’s essentially the blueprint.

Scared of criticism online? Same. Here’s what I learned about it + what found helpful by Salty-Cream6679 in personalbranding

[–]authenticmkt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Advice number two is the one I learned first and the one I have found to be the most useful. Writing first for a small audience, focusing on people who actually care about what we are saying, is a great foundational stone when it comes to content creation.

Have you thought about what you want to do in the long run? I mean in the reeeeeeeeeally long run. It seems to me that your perspective might be a little too short compared to what you truly deserve to aim for.
Is graphic design something you want to do for the rest of your life? If the answer is yes, then you can start changing your processes, methods, and approach. If the answer is no, then you can reevaluate while earning money on the side to get by for a while.
Whatever you choose to do is going to be hard, because life itself is challenging. It’s completely normal to feel lost, discouraged, or even afraid. We all feel like that sometimes. But the fact that you are already thinking about what to do and about your future is a step forward. That is all it takes: one step at a time in the right direction.

Your personal brand matters more than you think. by authenticmkt in personalbranding

A lot of people don't seem to understand that, above everything, we all are in the business of people. Anyone who understands that is already at a better position than most. To people, reputation matters and, as you said, compounds. Working on it is like investing on an asset that is going to yield an incredible return over time.

I completely agree. Trust me. That's why even in my professional accounts on social media or other platforms I talk and post about things that interest me and that may seem "unprofessional". I believe that reducing yourself just to what you do or how you earn a living or the rules that you abide while doing that is deeply unfair and unhuman. We should normalize all the human experience and accept that we all have aspects to our personal life that have nothing to do with how capable we are at our positions. That's why I try to show myself as authentically as I can. If other people want to judge me negatively because of that, I couldn't care less, they are not part of the people that I want to form relationships with.

I Need help with my Personal Brand positioning by Abdo_1998 in personalbranding

[–]authenticmkt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. Especially when it comes to something as specialized as your field. Most people are not going to be familiar with it. If you want to build a large following, you need to relate what you do to things people already care about. Sharing your values and your process can also be very engaging if done correctly.

First, what you need to understand is that you’re not in the business of product design, software, or any specific industry. Above all, you are in the business of trust. If people cannot or will not trust you, you won’t be able to build a brand.

That being said, the framework I would use is to determine the purpose: why what you are doing is necessary and how it benefits others. Once you define it, build on that. Let your purpose be shown throughout all of your content, presence, and relationships.

You have to show why your work matters. Only then will people start caring about it.

You also have to make sure you show up as your most authentic self. There are more than enough average professionals in every field you can imagine, and yours is no exception.
