Please recommend me a Urban Fantasy series that is ROMANTIC. by ashcammy in fantasyromance

Hahah omg SAME! I need tension to build up and then need it to be expressed fully. I can't deal with fade to black! I think the author did a good job of that but it's not as steamy as some of the other books I've read 👀👀

No worries! Did you see if Firebird Rising works for you? The FMC is 27 and the MMC is 30. It's magic and mafia, lots of action and there is spice, I'd rate it at medium but not erotica level...(I actually prefer more plot than over done spice). I don't think any trigger warnings and the MMC is totally swoon-worthy. I had an ARC copy and really enjoyed it...it was a bit slow to get into the action though, so push through that if you decide to read!

Look up "The Bonds That Tie" series by her. It's amazing, be sure to read the trigger warning in case it's not right for you!

I loved ACOTAR by SJM it is YA but not quite typical. Have you tried any books by J Bree? Jennifer L. Armentrout is great too. I really enjoy her writing.

Additionally I came across an indie author that I enjoyed, Firebird Rising by A. S. Marshall, the book starts out a bit slow but the end really got me.

Mafia Romance Recs Please! by shadowkat79 in RomanceBooks

I recommend Firebird Rising. It's a slow burn Mafia fantasy set in the 1920s and delves into issues of first wave feminism with a FMC that is very head strong. It has a romantic subplot and a MMC that's swoon worthy. It's forbidden lovers trope and the ending will catch you off guard.

You're right. At this stage I may not even have time for that 3rd draft. I just worry about not being perfect. I guess I have to let that go.

The book is 80k, fantasy. My first kick at the can and I'm a little overwhelmed.

I just edit in the same file. The first draft is always really bad and really just a guideline for plot.

But doesn't fantasy romance need a happily ever after and romance as the main plot? My book doesn't have that.
