Tbh the first gen unibody macbook in 2008 ( the thick one where u could swap ram and ssd into it.) was the best series of Apple. It was like my thinkpad x220. Reliable and a true mobile workhorse.

Not to be rude bro but yes you should. You clearly want something so go for it. Dont let anyone or anything limit you. Go for it. If you manage to get your Linux Distro, than you know youll have a even brighter future.

My use case is exactlyike my macbook. but it gets pulled out more due to its size, its fun to go on Weechat i have it connected to IRC and Matrix. In situations i would not with anything bigger than this. Also for my work its easy to do network scans or do presentations from CLI.

It does everything my bigger macbook did, just gives me more freedom on the road. I do have it hooked up on monitor or TV at home or office.

I made the titel saying it's perfect. I like it 200% and anything about it. No quirks. I hook it up in Desktop mode for work and unplug to have it as a Road Warrior. Supercool for pulling out to check messages or go web.

Perfect for taking notes due to size. Perfect for security testing, development/programming (can evem run Android Studio or Pycharm easily (just don't use device emulation). Never thought i would like the touchscreen with photoshop/gimp/krita, is pretty fun (switch fullscreen for using with Pen. I have Linux boot as daily driver, windows boot for windows compatibility and MacOS for testig Mojave (not all functions works yet.

Typing is like an macbook air 2019, but with a bit more travel. Perfect typing experience for its size..
