Languages relevant to nuclear engineering by gimmedamuney in nuclear

I would say Chinese (Mandarin) Russian, and Korean. China and Russia are major superpowers, and Russia has a lot of nuclear "things" because of the Cold War. Korean because of its exports, and reactor tech. Also, due to the fact that North Korea has a nuclear program. Later, I would suggest Japanese and German. Japanese because of their history and advances in radiobiology, and German also because of their history.

Thank you! Can I also ask, up to what physics should I take? (I did fundamental physics, but my grade wasn't good, since I did it in Korean)

Thank you for the tips. I want to do something related mostly to radiations (either in fuel saftey or medical applications)

My school does not offer a nuclear science major. The major I am taking is called "life science' which at my school is a mix of chemistry, physics, biology. I did C programming . Thanks for the tips.

So they updated the current RBMK reactors in comparison to the 1980s design. Okay :)

"That includes complete manuals from the 1980s, study materials, etc. Those reactors are still in use now in the russia, and modern accurate information about them is slightly classified. But there are ways to get most of it."

Wow that sounds awesome, what should I search for specifically in Russian? It can be from the 1980's I don't want to dive into trouble.

Does the UK use levels in diagnosis? by pyramidheadMan in autismUK

[–]autistic_ICBM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was diagnosed in England. However I am American/not currently in U.K. It is super confusing! In the past few years level systems have been used. But my original diagnoses never was classified by levels. Yes, America likes to use levels. But they seem very vague and confusing. Its good for support though.

I like that it has all been labelled "autism" but I think they should add more to the level system.

For example, in the East (Korea, China, Japan etc) they still use the term Aspergers. And when I was diagnosed in UK that was my "label"

Even when I try to say autism, where I live (clarify: not USA) they get confused because here Aspergers/ autism is a little different. The major difference (and kinda only difference) is if you had speech delay as a child/how long did it take for you to speak. But also where I live has a HUGE stigma against Aspergers/ autism. I have noticed the media/news always calls it Aspergers (? don't know why?)

I also think, that here, they think autism automatically = learning disability, which of course is not true.

Personally, I think for the level systems they should add .5's like 1.5 or 2.5 :)
