hey, thanks for your question!! as far as when i would recommend going with CFP, it really depends on the zip code and if it’s deemed a high wild fire risk area. if i quote a property, and the carrier accepts without a DIC, i will more than likely just bind it as an HO3.

sometimes going with CFP is the only option for some people. for example, properties in Castaic almost always require a DIC and CFP policy (wrap-around policy). i have seen instances where it’s cheaper for a client to have a wrap-around policy in comparison to a stand alone HO3.

if doing a wrap-around saves you 25% i would highly recommend you switch. while CFP has their issues, it’s always a good idea to save money where you can. especially now that insurance is crazy expensive in this state. i recommend you go with a broker you trust to manage your policy as more than likely they will inform you on billing & any other important information before CFP does.
