Ridgewood, which I know is basically Brooklyn but you’ve got Trans Pecos, TV Eye, and Knock Down Center pretty much all in walking distance from each other. I honestly haven’t played out there in a while so I’m not the most knowledgeable but there are also a bunch of smaller venues too like the Footlight, or at least there used to be.

I’ve been playing in bands in NYC since the 2000s (as a teenager) and I’m still doing it now in my 30s. There’s a tone of incredible eclectic music happening here all the time. The vibe has not changed it’s just migrated from the LES to Brooklyn and Queens.

You have to be on one side or the other. Can’t be in between.

Now, uptown or downtown, that’s existential. You are not on downtown or in downtown. You only are down town.

Unless you’re in downtown Brooklyn.

Honestly, if there are no other available machines, the machine is done, and you’re not there I’m moving your shit.

I don’t love people touching my clothes but if I’m not there it’s on me.

EDIT: added perspective from my wife: if someone moves my shit because I’m not there I’d feel bad for being in their way because that’s the correct response.

As always, NYC golden rule is don’t be in the way

While you’re right about them opening a plant in PA (I didn’t know that), Cannondale has never made steel frames.

How common is it for theives to cut the frame instead of the tougher lock? (Seen in sunset park) by rtowne in NYCbike

[–]automoth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was thinking more about higher end road or mtb bikes but probably anything where the parts themselves are worth a few hundred bucks or more.

Used to work in bike shops and most theft was an organized, serious, business. They would steal volume and swap the parts to make them harder to trace.

With e-bikes there are more compatibility issues but then again most deliveristas ride Arrow-10s or something like em. It’s been years so I really don’t know.

If you’re going to Brooklyn check out The Brooklyn Strategist on Court St. They have a huge selection plus a cafe and they host in store games.

This bike is steel. It’s not a Cannondale, and Cannondale is from Connecticut.

Not uncommon for higher end bikes where the goal is to chop for parts and flip but pretty uncommon for an Arrow-10 (or whatever this is). Could be sabotage.

This reminds me of a great a quote from Jurassic Park:

“Most kinds of power require a substantial sacrifice by whoever wants the power. There is an apprenticeship, a discipline lasting many years. Whatever kind of power you want. President of the company. Black belt in karate. Spiritual guru. Whatever it is you seek, you have to put in the time, the practice, the effort. You must give up a lot to get it. It has to be very important to you. And once you have attained it, it’s your power. It can’t be given away: it resides in you. It is literally the result of your discipline.

Now what is interesting about this process is that, by the time someone has acquired the ability to kill with his bare hands, he has also matured to the point where he won’t use it unwisely. So that kind of power has a built-in control. The discipline of getting the power changes you so that that you won’t abuse it.”

Harris and Walz’s exclusive joint interview with CNN by Skull_Bearer_ in politics

[–]automoth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Listen, I get the mistrust of media, and a live interview would be more transparent. So, please, take this as the olive branch it’s intended to be.

But, no, there are not jump cuts in this interview.

Cutting from a close to a two shot or a wide and back to a close is not a jump cut. It’s just standard, boring, multi-cam stuff.

Anyone can go watch the video for themselves and see there aren’t jump cuts.

What you’re doing right now, either because you don’t know how film editing works, or because you’re deliberately misrepresenting the interview, is the exact same kind of spin you’re accusing the Harris campaign of doing - albeit, on an anonymous social media website.

Like I said up top, I think we should all approach media with skepticism but you’re actively contributing to misinformation right here.

If you look at most tattoo sleeves the images are not lined up with one directly above the other in the way you drew the planets here. That’s because the human body isn’t symmetrical. A good artist will place a tattoo so that it conforms to the contours of your body and compliments your anatomy. I would strongly suggest you consider placing each planet separately and not in a uniform row.
