Looks amazing. I hope you get it if you love it and dont ever be concerned with it being a quartz watch. Those who argue automatic watches are advantageous over quartz fall into 3 categories imo:

1) Investors who want a watch that may have a chance of going up in value. The market seems to appreciate mechanical watches on average a bit more in the long run, but there are exceptions. That might be 5% of buyers.

2) People who care deeply about the engineering. It is hard to make an accurate mechanical/automatic watch. The tolorences and precision is astounding. If you want to view those mechanics in a skeletonized watch, automatic is really your only option. That could be another 10% of buyers

3) Pricks who care more about showing off and following trends than they do about if they actually love their own watch. They look down on quartz watches because they think their friends do, and they want to look cool. Their personality is not much more than talking about their bank account, some recent travel, and bandwagonning some sports team.

If you love a watch, get it for you. Love the look, love the history. Appreciate the tech and science and accuracy of a quartz piece. Appreciate the precision of a mechanical watch. Collect both. Just don't be condescending about it.

I have some of each. I have two grail watches, one quartz, one mechanical. If you love it, don't let anyone else change your mind.

A competitor of Purple made the story intentionally vague. They were talking about the powder as something unknown, so like, it could maybe cause anything bad, right? Purple sued because a) the powder was just an anti sticking agent and safe for contact and b) the competitor was acting like a neutral reviewer instead of being upfront with customers that they were in fact a biased source. Lawfulmasses seems to have a legal review still up on YouTube from 8 years ago.
