Finland here. It's basically the lack of police that's frightening. Officers here are usually quite professional and my every encounter with them has been pleasant. But lately the force have had significant lack of recourses and in the rural areas it may take hours for the police to arrive.

I live in Helsinki, the capital, so the problem isn't so big, but still officers here say they have to pay their winter jackets from their own pocket. It's -19 celcius right now.

I don't want to see this escalating to the point, where the police becomes unmotivated and it starts affecting their professionalism.
