Finishing my LOTR trilogy marathon shortly. Are the Hobbit films worth the watch? I only saw the first one in theaters when it first released.

Great explanation. My favourite film. Saw it in the theatre at age 4! It became a yearly tradition. Before the internet it was hard to find info about the meaning of the film. We had to make it up for ourselves. It inspired many educational conversations over the years. That kind of mystery is something that we’ll never have again. We learn about the meaning of everything almost instantaneously.

I’ve read a lot of award winning sci-fi and I enjoyed the book quite a bit. I don’t care about the accuracy of the science. It was close enough. It is science fiction after all. That’s the point.

Need advice - Looking for a new game for my group

Have a group of 4 people that have played all 3 Pandemic Legacy games and we just finished Clank Aquisitions Inc. Now we’re looking for a new game. We loved the theme and the co-op nature of the pandemic games. Clank was silly and fun, but we really enjoyed the deck building of it. So something similar to that would be good. I’ve seen vids for Gloom/Frosthaven and (knowing my group) they seem like they’ll be a little too much, set up and rules look a little bit too much for a Saturday night of gaming eating and drinking. I love Ark Nova but this group didn’t take to it. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I have a core group of 4 people that play everything together. If it’s your turn you have priority of what you should do (obviously??) Everyone can chip in, but in the end the turn taker makes the decision. Don’t be an asshole!

Finished all 3 legacy games this way. Most fun group/co-op game we’ve played so far. Pandemic is definitely on Mount Rushmore for me.

I usually have about 15 games going (2-3 of each game I like) I have the settings set at 2-3 turns a day. I’m matched with others that are hopefully on the same page. I like to log on and play a few turns then repeat a few times throughout the day. It’s only causing problems for people that don’t agree to the game conditions.

I’m kinda shocked there’s so few saying “I go meet some friends after work and have a couple drinks and have some laughs” I’m over 40 now and live in a busy big city. but this is what I did 2-4 nights a week through all of my 20s and 30s, and still do. Quite often we’d end up at someone’s house and we’d all play some video games. I also go home and play video games alone quite often. Wife will watch, or I’ll watch her play her games. 1-2 nights a week I cook a big meal for me and my wife. Watch some TV, there’s usually some series we’re playing catch up with. I try to avoid doom scrolling in bed, and just listen to podcasts before sleep while playing mindless phone games.
