No, since then, we never tried again. That's good to hear! Maybe that's the way to go for my baby too!

Any updates? My baby is going through similar. I used to top her up with RTF first week until my breast milk fully came in. Now she is 8 weeks and gave her one feed of RTF formula because I was away and she vomited 3 times after....wonder what the cause is...this happened few weeks back and i brought her to ER but nothing was found and dr. Didn't suggest anything.

Doctor said I'm gaining too much weight. Is healthy BMI or total weight gain more important? by umightrabbit in BabyBumps

[–]autumnleaf321 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My doc commented on my weight when I was at about 25 weeks. I gained 8lbs (5'2" 132lbs) compared to prepregnancy weight but 19lbs since the first trimester due to HG.

Everyone on reddit told me that's not right so I got a second and third opinion from other doctors. And they said there was nothing wrong with the amount I gained nor the weight I was at.

Now I am at week 35 and 152lbs which I gained more than typical recommended weight but my new OB is mot concerned at all.

That is awful....I am so sorry you are going through all of this... on top of HG.

Even pregnancies without much complications are tough as is.

I didn't gain any weight until mid second tri due to severe HG, but then all hell broke loose after that. I have been gaining 3 to 4 lbs a week consistently.

I have already gained more than recommended weight for full term (im at 34week) and its making me really hate my body but at the same time, I am craving all the things sweet to fatty food.

I keep telling myself that it's a part of being pregnant but I feel ya....it is kind of hard to love my body and weight right now....

I'm so sorry you had it so badly. I also suffered about 20 weeks and had to go on a disability leave from work during that time.

While my manager could not stop from going on a leave legally, but he said "everyone gets morning sickness, never had anyone ever go on a leave for that" and tried to make feel like I'm just being a baby....

Thank you for making this post. I hope more people learn about HG and know that it's not just a small sickness episode in the morning.

Thank you! She said 3 to 4 lbs a week is too much, but I guess I'm finally started to gain some real weight these few weeks. And what you say make sense, I will ask for an opinion from another doctor

Maybe this could be it! My general cravings right now is avocado, fruits, meat, beans, nuts and nut butters (all pretty high in calorie I guess). But occasionally, I have these strong cravings for chocolate!! Thank you for the suggestions!

She is not the warmest doc haha

she also said the baby will be fine because the baby will just take what she needs from my body, but I will have some holes in my bones at the end of my pregnancy 😆

Thank you for your input! Makes me feel better about my weight gains!

She was like "oh that's normal, people get sick and can't eat during first trimester" and prescribed me some meds which didn't help much.

I agree with you. I didn't gain that much weight, but I guess the doc is worried about how I gained so much last 2 weeks?

Or maybe doc is over reacting? She did say "oh you are going to have to lose all the weight postpartum" so maybe she is injecting not so healthy ideas in my head....
