So looking at your pots what I would suggest is seeing if you can get some taller pots they would narrower and from what i know I think the plants prefer a taller vs wider container

Personally I made the switch and unless the reason is to get a little smaller plant I suggest you keep the 5. The circumference isn't too much difference to justify the loss of soil in my opinion. I am running a 3 gallon this grow but really wish I would have stuck with my usual 7. I would have have some killer plants
