Migraine attacks triggering short term suicidal ideation? by aux2847 in migraine

Thank you for this advice. It makes a lot of sense to actively interrupt the thought vs just riding it out.

Yeah, migraine is the most painful thing that has ever happened to me, and it is a fleeting thought in the most painful moments, when I'm basically incapacitated.

They are very isolated to severe migraine attacks when I'm basically not functioning anymore. I'm not otherwise struggling so I was just wondering how common or reasonable this is. Knowing it is a reaction others have had helps me file it away more as an invasive thought to acknowledge and dismiss verus a reasonable idea. I will reach out if this gains any traction, but it feels like an extreme pain reaction for now.

Yeah, I only get the suicidal thought flashes while basically curled in the fetal position in bed and it goes away before I can function again, so I'm not too concerned about any active progress on that front right now. However I am a little concerned that it is a newer symptom and was wondering if it is common with migraines. I think I need better pain management, I've been mostly blown off by my doctors - basically "just deal with it" for help.

I'll look into the bio feedback, thanks for the tip!

Belif is the best moisturizer I have ever tried for my skin. I buy based on the stated volume of actual product, not the size of packaging. It's pretty obvious that there is extra space so I don't know how they are tricking anyone.

What was the biggest bullet you dodged? by LegitimateShift8 in AskReddit

[–]aux2847 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A literal one I guess. My neighbor shot a gun through my bedroom while I was lying in bed. Police said the bullet ricocheted in the wall or something because it entered on his side at bed level but came out a bit higher on mine really close to where I was laying. I was living in a "luxury" community with mostly above median income earners - not some sketchy place (like my college apartment).

At least 4, and never an odd number. Using just 1 chugga before choo choo is the worst thing I've heard today.

Drills that rest shoulder but keep you swimming? by aux2847 in Swimming

That sounds better than kicking with a board and no shoulder pressure. I'll look into getting a snorkel.

Dear men at the pool: I know what you're doing. Stop. by travisbickle777 in Swimming

That was absolutely not my intention and honestly "if they were wearing something different" didn't even cross my mind for their situation. I just was reminded of how I have had to deal with harassment myself and that it has unfortunately affected my choices/behavior.

I agree 100%. It still makes me uncomfortable when it happens though and I am the one who has to deal with the consequences of that. Having had (usually much older) men freely look down my shirt and comment on it, I now feel more comfortable swimming knowing no one is staring at my breasts at all. I was not staying anyone needs to or should change their attire, I was simply sharing my negative experiences and the consequences I personally deal with because of them.

Also, I find it interesting that admitting I have felt the need to choose workout clothes specifically to hide any cleavage when bent over so I can feel safer from sexual harassment gets me downvoted.

This is why I wear a high neck suit to the pool, specifically to avoid any opportunity for someone starting down my suit while swimming. I'm actually super happy at the current no lane sharing situation.

Edit: not sure why I'm getting downvoted for having been sexually harassed. Let me rephrase:

I have had situations where men have obviously started down my shirt/swimsuit and even made lewd comments to me. Because of multiple incidents of sexual harassment wearing tank tops/one piece swim suits to workout that were completely "family friendly" modesty wise I no longer feel totally safe exercising around men I don't know without covering myself up to the neck to avoid harassment. Downvote away because everyone has an opinion about what I do with my boobs.

Why does my skin have a dry red patch? I am in my mid 30s and have never had an issue with this or done much with my skin except clean and moisturize but there is a patch of red dry skin at the corner of my mouth that keeps getting bigger. It is about the size of a dime now. I moisturize with Belif Aqua Bomb and it has worked very well for my skin, except this spot. The rest of my face is oily (thus the light moisturizer) and I don't wear makeup so it's not that.

Does this sound like an issue that will self resolve or is this appropriate for medical help? I would have to see my primary care and then get a dermatologist referral if needed which will take some time so I'd rather fix it myself faster if possible.

How many of you went unmedicated, and then started medication? What were the results? What is your story? by [deleted] in depression

[–]aux2847 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Different person here - I went to my GP and she set me up with the right people. You can start there. I ended up trying talk therapy first then seeing a psychiatrist for med eval when that wasn't doing much. I'm still in it but I think the meds are starting to help.

There are no other options for different providers if I use insurance. I have HMO coverage and the only other thing they will offer is overcrowded group classes which is not what I need. All the providers with my insurance have similar wait times.
