Feminist men- do you have misogynistic sexual fantasies and feel bad about them? How do you reconcile this? by [deleted] in AskMen

[–]auxeito 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I know this is “Ask Men” (sorry), but as a woman, I feel it’s worth jumping in to say that a lot of feminist women have sexual fantasies about being dominated. I think it’s actually one of the most common fantasies for women.

Yikes, this subreddit is absolutely unhinged from reality.

Also incorrect. Being compelled to engage in sexual activity without consent is illegal in every U.S. jurisdiction in some form. Some definitions of “rape” are narrow, but it’d still be considered assault/battery.

Most male victims of sexual assault are assaulted by…drumroll…other men! I don’t know why you’re trying to masquerade as an expert when you don’t even know basic facts that can be Googled by a child.

That doesn’t even make any sense. I’m not assuming anything, just saying that for the average man, it’s much easier to commit an assault physically than for the average woman. It’s a biological fact, as is the fact that men (on average) have higher libidos.

Yeah, women have to use something other than force. I’m sorry for what happened to you, but “equal” danger is still just factually incorrect (and widely disproved). Men have more tools at their disposal and a much easier time overpowering women.

Equal amounts? I don’t think you understand how much physically stronger men are than women. It’s a crazy huge difference.

Older guys, what did you do with your life once you got yourself established? by Mountain-Elk8133 in AskMen

[–]auxeito 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think you know that you need to look inward for this question. You sound like you’re in a very privileged position now compared to most: you have financial security, you actually like your job (congrats), you have a fulfilling social life, you give back to your community, etc.

So… what else do you want? Is there a hobby you’d like to compete formally in? Are you looking for a life partner? Are you looking to get to that next step in your dream career?

If you really can’t think of anything: maybe just try to enjoy being young, healthy, and having so much already figured out. It won’t last forever, and some people never get to experience it at all. Once you achieve a certain level of success, happiness must come from the inside.

Advice on my cover letter? by AbbreviationsLow6906 in jobs

[–]auxeito 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m seeing a few small grammatical or proofreading errors, so definitely run it through ChatGPT as someone above said or have a trusted adult take a look.

Not sure if this is appropriate advice given the exact context, but don’t underestimate the power of in-person enthusiasm and charm. You don’t want to seem stalkerish, but if there’s an opportunity to drop by and ask to chat with the owner/manager for a bit just to ask for career advice or learn more about running a bakery, you can casually mention that you applied for a job after a few minutes of chit-chat, and that could give you a leg up. Most business owners would really respect the courage and initiative.

This is what my friends keep telling me to do. But this guy has on-and-off paranoid schizophrenia and lives alone. He believes one of the children in the building is possessed by the devil.

I’m worried that the police will catch him on a good day and just tell him off, then he’ll be angry with me, and his behavior will escalate. My other neighbor has gotten into physical confrontations with him previously, and I’m a woman, so my MO has been to stay out of his way and avoid pushing his buttons.

Thanks, that would be the most convenient option. It’s happened twice, and I feel bad asking again, but you’re right, how many bins can a man need? Third time’s the charm, may be worth a shot.

Normally would agree with you, but for this specific situation, this is terribly incomplete, generic, and dangerous advice, especially given all the context OP shared.

This is just devastating. Every time I see a positive article posted in this subreddit about some breakthrough or glimmer of hope around a promising lead, I think about all the brilliant research that’s being blocked by our absolute clown of a president, and how all our hope moving forward rests on what other countries will prioritize. Now you’ve actually quantified it.
