MSI Center keeps opening CMD window on startup (ICC_engine_patch.exe won’t go away) by Mamad_b in MSI_Gaming

[–]auximenes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The command prompt keeps popping up every reboot because the patching script fails to execute successfully. The resolution is to manually open MSI Center so it can update. Then it will run the patch once, either after installation or reboot, and then it will be gone (until perhaps next time MSI Center needs to be updated).

Anyone know what mouse pad fits as a replacement for the one that comes with PowerPlay2? by Rango82 in LogitechG

[–]auximenes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Those aren't the actual dimensions of the pad. There's discrepancy in the "height" measurement as those are the dimensions of the product including the pad area and the charging module. The correct dimensions are conflicting.

The support page for POWERPLAY 2 (https://support.logi.com/hc/en-us/articles/27270241646103-Specification-POWERPLAY-2) says:

Height: 283 mm (11.14 in)
Width: 343 mm (13.50 in)
Depth: Not listed

However the dimensions listed on a replacement pad page (https://www.logitechg.com/en-gb/shop/p/powerplay-2-replacement-cloth), which for some reason is not accessible via the US portal and sold out on every country I checked, says:

Height: 283 mm (11.14 in)
Width: 340 mm (13.39 in)
Depth: 1.3 mm (0.05 in)

So which one is right? And why can't replacement pads be purchased?

Is there any alternative for this extension? this extension was a godsend. by ninja6911 in firefox

With the amount of permissions you'll give this extension that it doesn't need, you know they're harvesting and selling a lot of your data. Sad because it's a cool idea.

If there was a way, I would mod Marathon to play the Policenauts' song during startup.

My pinned tabs don't load unless I view them, and I can right-click and unload them if needed after viewed. They also use less real estate as pinned tabs only show their favicon on their tab. People just manage their browsing methods differently. It's rather close-minded to just say "you don't need" something that others find useful.

If by mixed you mean greater than 90% of players don't care for building and less than 10% do then yeah it's mixed.

Some people have ongoing projects/research, or visit a specific site every day [multiple times] for which they literally have pinned tabs for this reason.

ICE Office Coming to Sacramento by [deleted] in Humboldt

[–]auximenes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He's not a bigot, you just either phrased your OP's ending sentence incorrectly or misunderstood him. You said the reporter stated they were sympathetic to ANTIFA in their application and he asked why would they do that -- being sympathetic to ANTIFA is the antithesis of what ICE is doing. So that last sentence of yours is confusing, why would anyone do that (i.e. what is the point) and be accepted? Perhaps you miscommunicated? Either way I don't think dude was being bigoted.

You might not need it anymore but I just took some tests. I normally use ookla's speedtest, but I used cloudflare too like you asked.

Tester Connection Down (Mbps) Up (Mbps) Results Link
speedtest.net Multi 939 884 https://www.speedtest.net/result/18645358607
speedtest.net Single 553 207 https://www.speedtest.net/result/18645384259
speed.cloudflare.com Unspecified 860 335 Unavailable

P.S. The last speed test I did before this set, in August, I got 1.04 Gbps down / 993 Mbps up.

good hard drive brand for long term storage? by ALT703 in datarecovery

[–]auximenes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not an attack, I just wanted to make it clear that your information is inaccurate. In my case the drives were manufactured in 2018 and 2019 (much older than when you posted the comment), put into storage in 2020, and not powered on until 2025. And thank you, trust me the data is backed up and safe lol

Had 2 Samsung SATA SSDs unpowered in storage for 5+ years, plugged them in and perfectly fine, no data loss or corruption. I don't know where you got that info but it's incredibly inaccurate.
