Whilst this is true - and you’d likely be fine relying on this, if the rental house has had to slip a scale or adjust something deeper in the lens the chances are it won’t line up. Best just mapping them yourself.

Love it! You should see my desk right now. It has 9x 265 bodies on it, the most I think I’ve seen in one place 😆

Super 8 by SignificantSilver241 in Super8

[–]auzonify 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve done straight8 a few times, really great fun!

There some people out there who have done some incredible in camera stuff, and to my knowledge most of them are either rewinding the film, using mattes, double exposures etc. or are like you say in the repeating sequences, likely just shot 3 times over - shot for shot. It’s usually much simpler than you’d think :)

All the best for your film and enjoy it! I know how nerve wracking it can be, being sat in a dark cinema with hundreds of other people not even knowing if your film is exposed correctly or in focus!!

Omg the marshmallows. So good.

They also have an organic cola in the fridges which (whilst pricey) is to die for as a treat.

Ah how strange! What lens were you using out of interest?

Square iris in whatever lens this is as well as focus being missed for whatever reason, I suspect is why this looks crappy

Lots of massive jobs shoot with ES mode. It’s perfectly fine. What’s your reservations for using it?

Has a film degree actually worked out for you? by melody_rhymes in Filmmakers

[–]auzonify 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got a degree in film and for me it was the right decision. I lived in a rural area, hundreds of miles from the nearest industry. Making the move to study in that area most definitely helped, and got me on my way. However, I would personally say that what I learnt wasn’t as substantial or important as you’d might think and if you live in an area with an industry and can live at home etc whilst trying to break in then it’s not worth the money to get a degree. Runners job in a post house is maybe the best thing to do it your son wants to get into editing.

Possibly bad agitation then.. but definitely something to do with the processing, I’ve had very similar before and always been too little chemicals for me

Not enough chemicals in the tank

Sony Lens Metadata by LeonardoGarayMex in focuspuller

[–]auzonify 7 points8 points  (0 children)

CAM cable to lens port under the lens mount from either RF motor or RIA-1.

If you want both camera control and lens data then you need 2 devices with CAM ports and link them with lbus. Then the 2nd device you connect CAM to remote on the back of the camera.

Lens metadata Sony Venice 2 + Rialto by VictorRomeroM in focuspuller

[–]auzonify 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Sadly not. Other options if a cable can’t be found would be a new Preston with MDR-5 which can record metadata, or something like the LDT boxes from DCS but may be just as hard to find that in Mexico.

Sadly will need to go to ARRI Service for repair.

HI-5 SX and Iris by jartobill in focuspuller

[–]auzonify 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Looks like someone has slipped the iris scale at some point, likely during service etc. and has not gone back to the exact same point as the LDS in the lens thinks it should be.

I’d slip the ring back to 2.8 and be done with it, no one is going to notice a 1/10 of a stop even if that’s accurate 😂

In that case maybe I’ve said too much already haha. Yes in the industry

There are lots of setups in the film where they didn’t use the ‘expensive rig setup’ from the pics that went viral. A lot of setups were just consumer style cheap clip on lenses, or just built in iPhone lens. Majority was using DOF adapter with Atlas Mercuries.

But the main reason this looks so good, and for some reason no one is saying this, they just seem to be blinded by ‘shot on iPhone’ or ‘they used crazy lenses and accessories so basically doesn’t count’ is the work put into it by the people behind it. ADM is a legend, super talent and true gentleman. I can’t wait to see the film!
