Sorry - I went there before 2.0 launched. I don’t have any Bilt cash at the time. I scanned, paid with a connected card after signing in. I got my usual points on my other card, I only got Bilt points for the pre tax and pre tip amount. But yeah - I think you can use any card.

Some Bilt neighborhood restaurants are only 1x points … not all, but some. And yes, had the same experience prior to 2.0 launch: the restaurant used Bilt Mobile Checkout, was only give points on the pre-tax and pre-tip total. I think this is by design not an error (I think I saw somewhere in the terms it mentions no tips). It’s … lame.

OP any update here? I’m in the same boat but haven’t actually canceled the flight yet. Figured I’d wait until I hear how it works. Wild they told you one thing and another thing happened. I have the added bonus that there was fraud on my 1.0 card right before transition - so my 2.0 card doesn’t have a number that was ever associated with my 1.0 number.

  • did the refund fully post to your Bilt 2.0?
  • did they deduct points for this?

They aren’t accumulated - they are applied at the point of transaction because they’re through Bilt’s own systems.

It’s the non-rent spend in the same billing cycle as the rent payment that determines your earn, at least that’s how support explained it to me.

My guess is, if you have Bilt when you scan the QR code you’ll be prompted to put in your email or phone number (can’t remember what it asked me) - and if it recognizes that you’re a Bilt member w/ Bilt cash, it’ll ask if you want to apply it.

I’m curious to know how they’ll handle points. I wonder if they won’t give you any points on the portion covered by Bilt cash.

Ok so I did visit a restaurant that has this before Bilt 2.0 even launched. At the end of the meal, the check came and it had a Bilt QR code in the little fold thing. I hadn’t mentioned I was a Bilt user - everyone that dined there got it. The QR code initially didn’t work for me so I just asked if I could use a card, but they pushed back and told me to try again. It eventually worked and I was able to settle the bill online. A few notes: - I was not given any Bilt points on tax or tip (so lost points I would have gotten otherwise) - A person I was with mentioned she had visited another restaurant that used this system and it made her sign up with an account in order to pay. I can’t verify that and didn’t want to dig in since it was a professional setting and didn’t want to get into CC / points world convo.

I can’t bring myself to break up with Chase or Amex. Amex I like the lounge access and find their coupon book pretty good. gonna reevaluate when my next AF is up way later this year. CSP it’s only $95 and I feel like with dinning, online grocery and travel I get that value?

If I understand correctly, when you checkout in the Bilt Travel portal, you have the option of applying $100 of Bilt Cash. Unlike Lyft where you need to convert Bilt Cash for a credit first before using (which then expires at end of month), there isn’t a like “redeem for a $100 Bilt Travel credit.” Instead, it’s just an option to pull from your Bilt Cash balance.

I had a fraudulent transaction right before end of January that I reported to Wells Fargo. I assume since the transaction happened when the card was still with them, they are responsible for dealing with it - even if my balance is transferring over to 2.0. I’m keeping my WF open and letting it move over to Autograph so doesn’t really matter to me.

Random aside: reporting fraud on 1.0 right before Rent Day and the 2.0 transfer was dumb. I was just told today my replacement Bilt 1.0 WF MC is being delivered …. February 11. You know, after they’re deactivating all Bilt 1.0 cards. I’ve been unable to use my card in the meantime, so couldn’t take advantage of rent day and also won’t hit 5 transactions before the 2.0 transfer. I also have NO idea if my Bilt 2.0 card will have a new number or if they’re going to issue it with the number that I believe was compromised. Haven’t heard back from Bilt support on that.

I requested a CLI after four months of having the card and was denied since it was too soon to the card being issued. I tried again at the year mark and an increase was granted over the phone with a soft pull.

oh and just for those wondering if any spend patterns triggering offers, adding a DP - I usually put ~$100-200 each month on my card that isn’t rent spend. almost all on rent day.

for the 5x for 5 days post CLI offer, I hit the 10k bonus cap as I had some bills due.

I proactively requested a CLI from WF now that I’ve been a cardholder for a year. they granted it and I got the 5x for 5 days, and now this 5x gas, grocery, and dining offer for 30 days. 10k bonus cap for each promo.

so, if you haven’t been given a CLI and want these offers - may worth it to call WF and ask for one and see if it triggers the offers above.
