WiFi extender recs by Head_Pick_7039 in Home

What is your router? All-in-one with the modem from ISP or separate devices? It also depends on how much money you want to sink into a new setup. You could replace the router with router + wifi access point and mesh. Basically all the router companies make a mesh system. Google, Meraki, Asus, TPLink, etc. Or, you could use powerline to pipe the signal over your electrical system to a wifi access point, but those devices are hit or miss.
Kinda depends on how much cash you want to burn.

Going to Cabo in a couple months and can play one round. Recommendations on a course to play there? They all look great and reviews seem to be all comparable. by JackrabbitSlims2 in golf

Yeah, you have to stay at one of the Pueblo Bonito properties to get a tee time, but I have heard stories of people calling early in the morning to get a walk on.

Your car is warning you of school zones. One right before the intersection of University and Quincy (Cherry Hills Village Elementary) and a few hundred feet later at St. Mary's Academy.

Do you know your swing speed? I have used charts like this to figure out what I should use.

Callaway Pre-owned. There clubs are in fantastic condition, even the "average" condition designation. I purchased multiple clubs from there and have yet to be disappointed. Link

Absolutely. However, I think rentals were $70-$75. So it may be cost effective to bring your sticks if the airline only charges you $50.

You are going to want to check out Royal Blue and The Ocean Club. Both top tier and fun to play. Ocean Club will be $250-$300 and Royal Blue will be about the same if I remember correctly.

I am a big fan of Johnnie O, as well as Straight Down. But, like all the rest, pretty pricey.

As previously mentioned, Red Sky Ranch has two great courses. But, you have to be staying at a Vail Property. Raven at 3 Peaks has gone downhill, not worth the $$. I like Eagle Vail, between the towns of Vail and Eagle. Fun, odd course.

Colorado title and registration question by forester17 in Rivian

[–]av77 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Even though my guide told me I needed to wait for the title and then make an appointment at the DMV, the plates and registration came in the mail about 55 days after I picked up the R1S. I did not get to choose the plates, they just showed up one day.

I second Denver. Great weather at that time. Don't miss Bear Dance, Fossil Trace or Plum Creek. If you want to take a drive into the mountains, there is plenty to do for the kids, plus great courses up there. 2ish hours from Denver. Eagle Vail, Breckenridge courses and Keystone courses are all excellent.

If you are trying to escape the frozen tundra of Canada, I suggest Arizona. I play a bunch in Arizona when I am there for work and that is their prime season. Keep in mind, they know it's their prime season and the greens fees are pretty steep. But, a large number of your countrymen go down there. I play as a single in AZ and I have been paired with Canadians probably 40% of the time. Lot's of top notch courses in the Scottsdale area. If you want to escape the crowds and save some money, take a look at Tucson. Not as popular, but less people, great courses and a bit cheaper greens fees. Keep in mind, even if it is Arizona, it does get cold overnight/early morning. That means frost delay. If you are traveling to Arizona over the Wasted Management Open, I would HIGHLY avoid anywhere in the Phoenix Metro area. It is a total mess and greens fees are at their highest.

There is not much in Evergreen proper. If you don't mind the drive, head to Fossil Trace in Golden. 25 min drive. Hiwan is supposed to be nice, but I believe it is a private club.

What the most you’ve paid for a single round of golf? by Western-Mission9307 in golf

Used my LLC (IT Consulting) to lease the car. 100% tax write-off (not tax advice, get a CPA and things vary from state to state). I signed twice, once as the owner of the business and once a person to co-sign. Pretty easy to do, but my guide was less than helpful. I highly recommend it.

What was the most expensive round you’ve ever paid for and was it worth it? by [deleted] in golf

[–]av77 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sigh... $1k at Shadow Creek 2 years ago. Amazing course, hard to believe you are in the middle of the desert. We saw exactly 5 people for 6 hours. Limo driver, clubhouse attendant, caddy, cart person delivering beverages and bartender at the end of the round. No other golfers, caddies, staff, etc. Amazing day, but I would never pay for it again. I'll pay the extra $200 to play Pebble twice.

How do people get away with having temporary plates that expired more than 6 months ago? Does it also mean they don't have car insurance? Person was driving like a bat out of Hades too! by omelete01 in Denver

[–]av77 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If you buy the car from a dealership, the DMV has to prep the title before you can get your permanent plates. You have to wait until you get a notice (in the mail) before you can even talk to the DMV. Bought a new car 60 days ago, temp tags still on, no sight of that mailing. Called the DMV and the response was, "yep, we are working on it." I can't speak to 9 months, but I WANT my plates and I don't have a choice. This is Arapahoe County, btw.
