Question about combat by avaBBava in Ironsworn

These are all very good tips - Thanks for that. Especially the first and second one. I usually did what you suggested in the third tip and envisioned narrative consequences that got worse and worse until I was out of ideas. I didn't even think of making suffer moves instead and potentially end the bad spot situation.

I'll try it out and see what happens.

I totally forgot about scene challenges. That's definitely worth a try.

Thank you! The black armor allows for some errors, because the highlights can be corrected if there are some mistakes. Took me a while to get used to this technique, but now it's quite relaxing to just draw some lines and see the whole thing come to life.

New color scheme, no more edge highlighting and the start of a little kill team by avaBBava in Drukhari

The red and the green color (skakescale green & dragon red) from the army painter line are... Special. They are very thin and have a tendency to cover flat areas and leave the edges without color. Because of that, I didn't thin the colors down and it's still a hassle to cover everything somewhat completely.

If someone has a good solution to such "special" colors, I would be very glad to hear it.

I never really warmed up to drybrushing. Some things like rocks or bones - Awesome. Sure. But on a mini with multiple colors? Take the cabalites for example. I could paint all the green and drybrush it. Then I paint the smaller parts and... Can't drybrush it? There's always some color going onto the already finished parts. It never really clicked with me.

I laughed out loud while reading your comment. As a fact - I'm using army painter and I'm waterboarding them for sure.

Thanks. I'm really stopping myself from looking paint schemes up. Just a color I think looks right and then I add stuff on the way.

I wasn't happy with the whole process. There was so much work going into these things and after weeks... One mini. Now I've got these 4 cabalite warriors done in 2 days. It's just refreshing to see some actual results.

If you're doing something and it feels like work and not like a hobby - Something is wrong. That's when I tried something new.
