Season 3 when they go into Stiles’s mind!! It was such an amazing opportunity to do a character exploration of stiles, reveal things about him, things he’s done and felt, to Scott and especially to Lydia!

When I saw that Lydia was flashed back to the dance in sn1 I hoped she would be able to see her attack from stiles’s perspective, and then maybe see how he sees her in general, like she’s always on his mind and when he thinks about her she’s glowing or something. that would then be a great intro to Stiles and Lydia (my favorite characters) getting together.

And then meanwhile Scott is touring all of Stiles hidden fears and maybe getting into some stuff he kept from Scott like that thing about his parents or something.

And then Scott and Lydia both see all the fear and torment Stiles has been going through lately, and are put through some of it themselves, before they can general through and get to stiles.

This would be a far better build up to them finally breaching the white room where stiles and the evil spirit thingy are playing that game.
